Guys,, I ordered a Bridger #1 stop loss just to get a look at it,, and the way it’s designed,, I can’t seem to turn the spring towards the dog … the guard spring won’t allow it..
How are you sposed to bed it?? Smash it down in soft mud ??
As odd as it sounds,,, I’ve NEVER used a stoploss.

Was thinking about getting a batch because I’ve got some shallow water situations were body grips might not work as effectively.

B&L #1 surholds pan post style. You won’t be disappointed

That's exactly why I like the old B&L when using stoploss traps. But be aware you will still lose a rat now and than even using stoploss traps in shallow water.

I used those Bridger #1s inside rat huts after freeze up,they work fine. You’ll be dealing with a live rat a lot of the time though.

Well, you learned something for your investment. When setting, put it straight into the trail or den entrance.

I probably have close to 10 different brands and types of stop loss I have never turned the longsping left or right when setting

I was thinking the same thing Tom. I only have 1 type, #1 Victor round pan stoploss. I have used from 6-12 dozen of those for about 45 years and rarely do I try to swing the spring around as bedding on a feed bed or a house etc. I have no problems getting that trap to bed well for me.
