Cameras every where ,maybe wide spots to turn off road to pee . Is there some electronic widget that could warn you that you are on camera . I think USFS and Fish cops have them a lot .If not too pricey I would get one .

I have found in the dark or low light conditions that just using a cell phone camera shows the infra red lighting from a surveillance camera

Interesting, you have any idea of how far away that works?

I would think that any camera that just records continuously using ambient light would not be detectable. Other cameras that detect motion have to send out a signal that can be detected. Same for infrared used to light a scene w/o being seen by the human eye.

Better yet, imo, would be some sort of jamming technology. Not sure just how that would work against a purely passive hardwired camera. I'm thinking some sort IR flood or controlled EMP but I'm shaky on the science.

About a year ago, one of my friends had his truck stolen. His neighbor had one stolen too. I'm not going into how Lee's happened but the neighbor had several cameras up. About a week before the heist, the cameras had footage of a Mexican woman coming to the door carrying a laptop. She walked around with it for a bit. The police seem to think it was used to identify cameras. When the trucks were stolen, the thieves bypassed every camera location except for one in the barn where that truck was parked. They actually had footage of the truck being stolen.

you can't throw a dead cat around here without hitting a trail camera.

I looked up some stuff how to defeat these cameras. Older tech could be fooled with a reflective spray on your plate to cause reflective flash overload, but apparently the newer stuff is almost impossible to fool with plate covers or spray...plus it's pretty much all illegal to do...I'm sure there is or will be tech available at some point to obscure your ID, but then the cameras will evolve and you're back to square one, lol
I guess you can drive around with a mud caked license plate and a hat on the dash to cover the VIN#, grin

Cheep night vision will pick up trail cameras. Don't know about surveillance cameras.
