Thete is quite the double standard, isn't there? If someone makes a song espousing conservative values, they're blacklisted.... but a certain segment of the population can make songs embracing murder, drug use, violence towards women, etc and those artists are glorified.
Really shows how far this country has fallen.

Lots of the songs we grew up with as children were performed and popularized in minstrel shows, so that makes many of them problematic to the modern audience.
Unrelated, but "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits uses a slur for the fella with the earring and the mink coat that kind of surprises me that it escapes censorship when played on the radio. I guess it's such a beloved classic that it just gets a pass.

Hope the titles alone don't get this blocked, all songs I liked when growing up. Pour some sugar on me: Def Leopard Lick it up: KISS Cherry pie: Warrant Lieing eyes: Eagles Tush: ZZ Top The list is so long!!!!! Most songs would offend today, sadly!

These were quite controversial when they first came out. Many radio stations wouldn't play them. Now days, I don't think anything would be banned. Lots of garbage out there.
