In today’s politicaly correct world,, there’s lots of songs that would absolutely be banned or even worse get a particular artist black listed..

What songs do you guys know, that used to air on the radio that wouldn’t be allowed today ( please keep it clean!! Don’t get this post whacked)

I know ones that should be banned. When some of these rappers use foul language, refer to cops as pigs, and killing them.

Thete is quite the double standard, isn't there? If someone makes a song espousing conservative values, they're blacklisted.... but a certain segment of the population can make songs embracing murder, drug use, violence towards women, etc and those artists are glorified.

Really shows how far this country has fallen.

Heck pretty much anything by GnR. I used to love her, crazy, anything goes, get in the ring, Mr. Brownstone, etc.

Lots of the songs we grew up with as children were performed and popularized in minstrel shows, so that makes many of them problematic to the modern audience.

Unrelated, but "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits uses a slur for the fella with the earring and the mink coat that kind of surprises me that it escapes censorship when played on the radio. I guess it's such a beloved classic that it just gets a pass.

Hope the titles alone don't get this blocked, all songs I liked when growing up.

These were quite controversial when they first came out. Many radio stations wouldn't play them. Now days, I don't think anything would be banned. Lots of garbage out there.

Just about any song from Betty Davis the queen of funk. I doubt her stuff was ever on the radio but dang she can sing.
