Nice spin but we can survive just fine without you.And in case you didnt know-trees are a renewable resource, lol and we do have a few acres of forest here. China is interested, and are more reliable trading partner than you (probably anyone is) -so sayonara. Its a free country we can sell to whoever we choose just like you can buy from whoever you choose. …. Obviously you don’t understand the gravity of this situation…. We’re taking china and Japan too … for no other reason than to stop the anime and other such nonsense … matter of fact… I believe if we showed up with a fork … they’d lay their chopsticks down immediately

Its a free country we can sell to whoever we choose just like you can buy from whoever you choose.
Which is EXACTLY how it should be. Too bad both of our leaders are too dang dumb to let it play out that way.

There is a lot to respond to in Druckenmiller's piece but I'll be brief. As Steven has said................markets should decide prices. That is exactly what the bond market was and is doing. But as Druckenmiller says.....and I agree.....the Treasury can't allow that to happen because it is not affordable. This is nothing more than yield curve control and Japan tried it for decades without success. So while I understand Bessent's motivation, and his goal..........the tools he is using are the wrong ones. The bond market knows that and is pushing back. In the long run, the bond market will win but it may not be pretty

Lame response. UK is part of Europe. When was the lat time you were there? But X says so……… Europe in shambles. Why would anyone go there, the propaganda machine known as X and Facebook says Europe is falling: Obviously a joke from someone who vacationed there this summer instead of where they used to vacation. It is lovely, and the people are far far more fit than the ones on this continent.

You must have flunked Canadian history in high school. The Frenchmen in Lower Canada sent your revolutionary army packing back home in 1775 also. You didnt learn the lesson good enough that time so we did it again in 1812 in upper Canada. We were Nice and didnt bother to finish you off after we kicked you out. Dont poke the Polar bear. You got your hands full with the stone age camel humpers. You think they teach anything about Canada in American schools other than how we have to keep propping them up? People here consider Canada just another poverty case we have to support, lol. This is actually what we think you teach. We don’t believe that you know about Juno beach or which infantry group made the furthest inland push on DDay, Vimy Ridge, stormtroopers, 7000 stranded Americans in Gander, Canada falsifying passports and hiding Americans before getting them safely home during the Tehran Iranian hostage crisis, support in Afghanistan, energy security, disaster assistance , etc etc etc etc etc. No really, we fully expect that your are never taught any of this and that you really are taught exactly what you said. That is becoming more evident every day.

What are the "right" tools
Capitilism? Teachers unions?
It isn't either.
I think Druckenmiller has laid out his thinking. Deficit reduction is the right tool. However that requires a credible fiscal policy that we are unlikely to ever see until it is too late. We have tax revenues up 5% but spending is up 8%. That will never pencil out to 'deficit reduction'. It is really interesting to watch though. You have B And ....Druckenmiller worked for Soros ! We live in interesting times for sure

We live in interesting times for sure After reading that piece yesterday I looked up Druckenmiller and the first thing I saw was that he'd worked for Soros.... so naturally assumed he must be a liberal. But a few more minutes of reading showed that... up until Trump, he was a staunch supporter of Republican candidates. I found that interesting. And LOL Steven, he just won't say what you're trying to get him to say, will he?

Ken, I tend to agree with Elon. I think the only chance we have is AI productivity gains
There is no stomach to contain spending. No one is willing to make the sacrifices.
Angela he is saying all there needs to be said.
This is no longer a R or D issue.
