I go for another electrocardiogram tomorrow, I am getting tired of getting them, I think they give me one every 6 months. I wonder if that often is necessary.

Ask your doctor if it is, if he say's yes, you ask him why !

Having a EKG annually is good because they can be compared year over year and cardiovascular disease can often be detected by changes in the wave forms. Blockages don?t appear over night, generally it takes 10 years or so before they become significant but progression can frequently be seen by comparing yearly EKG?s. Also some medications require frequent EKG monitoring for rhythm changes that can be dangerous. If you watch closely on a lot of the multitudes of medications advertised they put in fine print at the bottom of the screen that ? this medication can cause prolonged QTC?. Well QTC prolongation puts you at high risk for sudden cardiac death. Sometimes it does feel like doctors milk your insurance and it Probly does happen BUT there is usually a sound reason for what they do. What they consistently fail at in my opinion is educating effectively. A simple conversation would go a long way toward calming fears and preventing people from feeling abused by the system.

If it came back abnormal you should, I had Lyme disease that screwed up one of my heart valves and we monterrd it, that way. I got on some over the counter supplement my doctor recommended, after two years the valve was back to normal. I feel very blessed and feel like God worked for me through my doctor. My Lyme is gone my heart is back to normal. My blood work in June was perfect, the nurse practitioner said there is nothing she could change to make it any better.heck yeah.
