If the ground is level, high high do you people place a camera on a tree if you would be trying to video both bobcats and coyotes?

Lower is better. 3 to 4 feet. If u got a good camera that they won't detect.

I never had a problem with my cameras face-high using a swivel knuckle under the camera so I could tip the camera angle down. Between the height & the angling downward, I could see more detail and happenings at the test sites.

That's pretty much how I do it except I use those old brown rubber door stops to angle the camera's down a little. I bought 12 for a dollar at a garage sale a few years ago.

Couple things to consider.
How popular is the area to human traffic? If you have the possibility of other humanoids traversing the area, frequently, up high enough they can't reach it without some kind of a ladder or standing on someone else's shoulders Had one in lock box bolted to a tree at about 5 feet up for optimum viewing of site and lost it to a sawsall.
Since then when putting out cams regardless of possibly visitors take 2 sections of my tree stand ladder (5 ft per section) and put it up high, can always find pieces of branches to put behind camera to get satisfactory down angle to get desired pictures. As things have evolved now have mounting brackets that have tilt and pan capabilities but still put up higher in trees to deter theft of camera/ SD card.
Only time don't do this is when placing on private property and have no threat of vandalism as I have come to trust no one
Yea dragging the stand ladder sections in and out is a PITA, but have not had problems loosing anything
