Any thoughts on what coon prices might run this year?
Especially in Missouri?
Looks like we are going to have a bunch again - would like to make a little money for a change.

How long after the oil prices spiked in 2008 was the little boom? Was it 2011 when that started?

Nothing to base this on other than my opinion. But chinoa and Russia have been our buyers typically. So I would guess p there won't be much demand.

I'm hearing there is a little more demand for good coon. Not going to be a boom by any means, but things may be looking up a little.

The FHA fur report tonight at the council meeting indicated coon will continue its incremental increases like over the last several years.

Sent coons up for the March sale this year and this what they sold for, AVERAGE: 10.10, SOLD: 50, UNSOLD: 0, SUBTOTAL: 505.00, HIGH: 21.00, LOW: 3.00 . Can only wait and see what coons sell for next auction, to know what they are worth.

Round here it would cost more to drive them to a fur buyer than theyre worth.

they shouldnt even have to worry about fur prices had a friend trap coon for a farmer and the farmer checked the traps caught 89 in 5 days read how much coon ate in a year figured he saved him 3;000 dollars after paying him 15 dollars apiece farmers will spend big money for bigger yields like seed fertilizer and equipment but animal controll your suppose to pay the farmer

Unless the grade of southern Michigan coon has drastically improved in recent years I can’t picture them being worth keeping for the most part. We do have a percentage of nice heavy ones that would be worth sorting out but the average coon not so much

I’d be ok with a 10-15 dollar average for finished coon.

Since they killed the penny, you should be lucky to get a nickel, haha.
