Due to a shoulder issure, This will be the first year using a crossbow version. Will see here in a few days when the weather cools off.

Magnus black hornet serrazor, made in usa, lifetime warranty. Tune your bow and will fly with fieldtips at 50 yards. Better penetration than your expandables, wont fail to open either. Not made in china like everything else.

Grim reapers are great. My youngest did destroy one once. His first x bow deer he shot at a steep downward angle . 15' up a tree shooting at a deer 13 yards away down hill. He shot it like he was using a rifle hig shoulder slightly angled tword us. Blew through the shoulder, ribs and point was sticking out of the center of the rib cage at the sternum about 1/2 inch. The bolt broke in 3 pieces and head broke one bald off completely and half of another. Broke off. Deer went down the hill but piled up in sight about 45 yards away. I dont falt the head and think it held up well considering.

I do think muzzy 100 gr 3 blade are the toughest heads used for years. Today I dont want to have to have a broad head target or worry about tuning each head to the arrow/bow. Grim reapers and jack hammers have always done well for my family on deer.
Now if I were hunting elk I would want a fixed blade.

Shot grim reaper for years and they performed flawlessly, my wife still shoots them. I switched to the magnus single bevel for this upcoming season, I really like that they are made in America and the no questions asked replacement warranty. I’ll let you know how they perform if I’m fortunate enough to take a bear or dear with them this season.

Compound i like g5 Montecs 100 grain. Crossbow i like rocket broadheads meat seeker mechanical 100 grain, but they are getting hard to find. I'm down to 3 and haven't seen any in stores for a long time. Started years ago with thunderhead 125s then liked muzzy 100s for years

If you like cut on contact check the Magnus broad heads out. If you are just hunting whitetails most of the heads will be fine. Sometimes you need to pickup what you think will work and shoot them.

I just use a fixed blade. Plan triangle looking one. Used the wrong pin with one straight away once and accidently hit it straight into the adams apple. It looked like a John Travolta movie through the site when it hit. It jogged a couple hundred yards grunted one big last grunt and layed down dead.

Abowyer broadheads are the only ones worth buying in my opinion. look on they're website there is tons of great stories of full penetration and superior blood trails. made in the usa with american materials small family owned business. single bevel broadheads are the greatest in my opinion alot easier to make them wicked sharp.

I've shot Steel Force on and off for at least 35 years. Always sharp out of the package....until now.

Bought 3 about 3 weeks ago and had to disassemble and sharpen every one. Big burrs on all edges.

With that said they still work.



Manitoba last week. Shot quartering away, right side. Head stuck in the bone left front leg. We couldn't remove even with a pair of pliers. This was a Premium, I usually use the Phat Heads.
