For those of you that do this.....how? Do you fry and brown it first and then instant pot it? Does the breading not fall off?

Yotetrapper, I brown them first, then into the pressure cooker until the meat is falling off the bones. A favorite way to serve them is over brown rice with mushroom gravy.

I’ve never used breading on squirrel.

Eh...wot?

If you guys try squirrel fried and browned first and then crock potted, I think you will keep doing it. It's very good that way.

Yotetrapper^^^ I do it several ways.Sometimes I quarter them up,,then put in the instapot till the meat will fall off the bone. Then I take off the meat and make Squirrel Pot Pies or stew with it.If you like them breaded and fried,,quarter them up then just put in the instapot for about 15 minutes or so.This tenders them up,,but the meat wont fall right off.THEN take the quarters and bread and fry.Much more tender this way.

Fried, but we only have gray squirrels I think they’re plenty tender. Sometimes fry them put in oven to finish. Squirrel is one of my favorite foods

… break em down into five parts … put them in a pressure cooker for around 10 minutes on high

…. Egg wash… then into seasoned self rising flour … deep fry at 375 until batter is golden brown
