Proud father of three, my two little girls 4 and 2 read all of the little house on the prairie books with their mom, mixed with listening to audio books based and about the mountain men every time im in the truck they decided they needed their very own log cabin. A few trips to the mountain for logs and we started the construction yesterday evening.

*I know the logs should be peeled...it isnt worth the arguement with a very opinionated 4 year old who knows exactly how a cabin shall look. When it rots out in 7-10 years (we are in the desert...we dont get much moisture) it will get cut up into fire wood..no biggie [Linked Image]

As a parent of a 2, 5, and 6 year old I know exactly what you mean.

Spiking the logs? Mark them so you don't hit them when it's firewood time.
One of Laura's homes is over in eastern S.D. But the more interesting home is in MO. Lots of cool old stuff and old records. Some of it works but the manager or whoever is too chicken to turn anything on.

Excellent. Best part is with a 2 and 4 year old "helping" it should only take 5 times as long as if you did it alone.

I've got four of them from 2 to 9 years old, so I know what it's like to be surrounded by experts.
Looks like a fun project. Keep the updates coming.
