In Mark June's demo at the PTA Convention he mentioned that mink glands work very well in canine lures. Has anybody had any luck with mink glands on canines? I have some sitting in the shed and could put them to good use.

It is one of the suggested ingredients in a well known bait....also weasel glands have notoriety also.

All canines are interested in other animal glands.

The more different species animal gland one can put in a canine or bobcat lure the better it generally is and longer it keeps the animals interested at a set. Asa

I love mink glands ... it's not much that isn't intrigued by the distinct sweet odor

reckon I'm kinda backwards though ... I tend to use bobcat and mink gland lures from the get go, mixed in formulation and basic gland lure ... using fox gland lures as a change up

yeah, I knew most already knew that grin

same goes for urine

I like ranch mink glands ... most I have dealt with have been lightly salted ... generally I rinse them good and grind what I need ... I keep the salted glands cool in an old fridge ... been working good so far smile

I actually need to find a source for some more ... very very soon as I haven't got much left

Mink gland tip - take off all the fat you can possibly take off prior to grinding. The fat goes rancid and spoils the glands. The essence itself seems to stay good for an awfully long time, as long at it isn't in contact with the rancid fat. I have some essence that was squeezed from glands ten years ago and its still potent.

Well what in heck are you planning on doing with it, passing it on to your grandchildren as a heirloom? lmao.

I like a touch of mink in my canine/cat lures, good stuff.

uh huh, oh no, that is definitely one of them left coast devil deals ... trying to seduce a innocent eastern country boy into something like that lol grin

I will admit, if'n it wont so far I would maybe be sucked into something close to that deal ... minus the finders fee of course whistle ... unless it's paid in mink glands or farts ... I'll be rich with both ... already half way there wink grin

I could almost shed a tear thinking of how many gallons of glands are mishandled/wasted frown
