I hope the sitting down thing works for you because I know It would never work for me. You need the use of your shoulders arms and back to get the job done. Sitting down your pretty much relying only on your arms.
If your sitting down how are you going to be able to move the hide up the beam and keep It In place to continue fleshing?

I guess I'm the only one that doesn't clean scrape thier coyotes. I just knock the heavy stuff off and call it good. Do fox and cats the same way.

after scraping a coyote, can you tumble it in borax and corn cob grit, board it fur in for an hour, then turn it??

Many of the coyotes I get ate as fat or fatter than coon. Theres a pretty thick layer of fat under the saddle that has to come off.

ive found that if you skin then freeze them they are easier to flesh. same with coon obviously thaw them before you flesh

The beav,
I assume you are replying to my post. I am not sitting down. The base of the beam is sitting on the floor. The beam is up off the floor at an angel. I straddle the beam standing up while I am fleshing and pull towards my body. Lots of muscles in the back shoulders and arms are used. You simply slide the fur on the pvc. You never have to reposition the fur. you simply reach down with one hand and rotate the beam (pvc). The beam is long enough to accommodate any coyote. I am sorry I was not more clear in my earlier post. If I can figure out how to get a pict on here it will be a lot more clear.

I can't believe that cop put me in the back seat when I clearly called shotgun.

Several years ago I came up,with a way to take the jarring to my arthritic shoulders and wrists that occur during the fleshing of the red membrane off the coyote. I take a soda spoon and starting at the neck, insert the handle under the membrane but above the leather and slit the channel it made open. I do this the full length of the pelt in maybe 4-6 strips.

You can either remove each section of membrane with the dull edge of your fleshing knife or use a pair of fish skinning pliers to pull the membrane off the leather. Once you break the "hoop" formed by the membrane, coyotes flesh very easy and takes me less time than writing this.

If I were to follow that guys instructions doing over 500 coon a year. It would take me forever...no thanks...watch ADC skinning video and Phil Brown's fleshing and stretching videos on here...way faster and much more informative. Tom
