same here zim. I just posted what it would say if I was buried. Ive already given instructions to 2 of my cousins to spread my ashes at Wolf Mountain overlooking the flats. A spot where weve spotted caribou from many times. Ive instructed them to spread the ashes on the first south east wind after im gone that way the ashes will blow down hill for a couple seconds then back uphill and all over the boys. My final "HAHA" moment.

I Am to be cremated and my ashes spread over the lands I loved to hunt and trap but if I was to have a headstone I would want it to read something like this...... Waited a lifetime on this earth .... just to hear the words "Well done faithful servant, Welcome and come on in" at my day of judgment!!! Amen!!!!

No reason to put it in your will if you have friends and loved ones that will see that your wishes are carried out. Last thing I want is the *^&%(^ govt having the last word over my life here on earth!

I have already told my daughter that I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered at the farm next to the creek. I love walking the old cemeterys here and looking at the tombstones from the settlers, but I doubt that sentiment will exist much in the future. So no need to waste money on one for me.

Hopefully St. Peter will tell me "Good ride cowboy, good ride."

I also plan on creamation, I just hope my kids don't put me in the litter box!

my preference is for my carcass to be left out on the prairie. the way coyote carcasses get cleaned up it would be gone in a few months im sure. that aint legal. burial without first being taxidermyed is pretty complicated. taxidermy of humans seems a little immoral to me for some reason. kicking a body in a hole and filling it in wont do anymore. (who knows why) so that leaves creamation and the ashes tossed in the local river. law wont let my buddies grind my carcass up and make bait out of it either.

One method would be to head out into the prairie while you can...die in a place you know and know you will not be found too soon or at all. Carry a note sealed tight to last much longer than your bones.

Wife made me buy a couple plots back when I was doing the cancer thing. So I guess I can't be burned up she wants to know where my carcass is in the ground not stinking things up some where.

When my brother passed he was cremated..I had Larry Finch make me up some of the brass tags with his name and such. Gave some to his daughters and my sister inlaw. They thought it was pretty cool. We left one in the ground at couple places we spread his ashes. Buried one by his deer stand and I've left them here and there in places he and I hunted and fished. Just my little thing maybe someday some one find a tag say who was this guy. Wonder why is this here.

I'd like to by thrown in a hole along a bench in our woods behind the house that has lots of white oak trees grow on it. I told my sons, that if they could swing it, to throw a few acorns in the dirt the shovel over me. I like the thought of doing some good for the trees that help feed the deer I love to hunt.

I don't see a need for taking up even a small chunk of land so that it does nothing for years to come and I'd rather have trees over me than a block of stone with my name on it.

I donated my body to a medical school. After they cut me up and look at me they will cremate me. My kids can throw out the ashes however they want.

Speaking from experience. Getting everything done, before a person dies, makes it much easier on the living. Why trouble the living with getting a tombstone, buying a burial plot, deciding what the deceased wishes might be. Do it all before you die and save the living the trouble of making decisions while grieving.

My parents had everything already laid out. They had a burial plot, tombstone already in place and things all ready. It sure made it easy on me, and my brothers, in making closure. There is enough to do without trying to decide what the dead wished.

That is why I have everything spelled out, taken care of, and paid for. That way my children have nothing to do except to cry over my poor, ol" bones.

The plan is to not have one for me. I plan to be cremated and my wish is to have most of the ashes scattered back into the land that gave me great pleasure and enjoyment and lessons learned. The family is becoming OK wiht all this. Might make some bacteria that makes some plant that some minnow eats and some merganser eats the fish and flies south and deposits the doo-doo and this creates food for returning flights and start it all over again!
