My idea - find you a good old WWII vintage or earlier Pot Belly Stove to heat the place with.

30x 50 holy crap you can park a reefer truck in there and still Tony, I don't smoke reefer. I don't k ow what I'd do with a truck load of it. Lol. The entire shop has heated floors. I don't think it's on zones though...thst would have been nice. But I'll look today. Yeah, she's big. Saskers, get out of my office. Lol. Those hooks are for a catch all and the metal strips are magnets for knives - neither of which are good in a prison.

You have a kitchen, bathroom, and shower in your new fur shed???? Man with heated floors you would have the sweetest "doghouse" to hang out in if the Mrs tossed you out for the night! Run cable out there so you can have the news or a game on while skinning, and you are set!!! You need a fridge for beers and snacks, and a card table so rest of us can come over and have something to do while we give you advice on your new fur shed setup. Jim

Before you go pluggin it up with stuff, think about your mechanicals. Like electrical for freezers, beer er lure fridges, 220, compressor and or hard air lines, welder, or ??? Plumbing, natural gas lines, AC, radio, location man.
A bunk area.
Skinning and fleshing area in the lean to if you trap during decent weather.
Think where you want the pressure wash areaS. Outside frost free hose bib, with inside shut off so those pesky trick n treaters can't turn it on and run away while you are not there.

well John, I happen to know a fella that can do the remodeling for you Course it would have to be done in the winter while coyotes are prime B&B doesn't just stand for bucksnbears. It's Bed n Breakfast for an offer like that. Lol. Check out any of the LED ceiling light fixtures from Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Lot of light for much less wattage, never have to replace a bulb. Put two in my garage and one in the bathroom. Almost like turning on the sun. I have talked with farmers that have replaced all of their fluorescent fixtures in barns with led's. That's good advice there. I'll check those out. You have a kitchen, bathroom, and shower in your new fur shed???? Man with heated floors you would have the sweetest "doghouse" to hang out in if the Mrs tossed you out for the night! Jim Jim, there's already a fridge, freezer, and cable hookup. What do you think this is, Mexico? Lol.

Skinning and fleshing area in the lean to if you trap during decent weather. The building is already built. Propane lines, 220, etc is all ready to go. I may insulate the lean to and wood fire it.

Geez USMC, sounds like you have the dream set-up already. Only think you need is an interior decorator. I'm thinking tumbler, fur drying room (if you need to regulate temp/humidity), hard to imagine actually having a space that big to turn into a fur shed. I'd love to post some pics that would help ya, but almost everything in my tiny little shed is designed around the idea that I don't have enough space (as much as I'd like anyways). Looking forward to seeing what you do to make it your space.

Try not to overthink it all at once John. See how the first season goes, focus on needed equipment, how and where you want it will begin to materialize. With that size building one of the best ideas offered was a good place for full size vehicle or other transportation to back in and load/unload. I Think you will find great pleasure in the ideas that come to mind that first season your using it, then making them happen.

sooooo,i'm cleanin and realized one thing not brought up yet,a shooting window for rainy days.mine has 2 This is true. I need to be able to see the bait pile out on the 22 acres. Duh! Sometimes one is better off working in a small area, a big area has a tendency to collect a lot of junk. Osky Is my, 100% great advice. It will come together and the truck.....man, parking it in there will be great. Garage door opener is going to be needed out there first. Sir, recliner was my first thought but somebody beat me too it. Bar, generator, wood stove with forced heat, led lighting, tall ceiling to hang furs from, high bay automatic garage door (big enough to get the tractor in, it sucks working on them in the snow), good solid work bench, and a bar (at the other end).
Best wishes John. Hope you enjoy every minute of your retirement, You've definitely earned it!

Tom Stalker on here makes a heck of a tumbler!!! I'm going to have a tumbler but I bet shipping from NC would cost me a child. Sir, recliner was my first thought but somebody beat me too it. And I didn't put LED lighting in there yet. Since praise in public is my thing...you're one of the best patriots and Americans I know. Love to have you out.

Leave enough room for your Prius! He traded that in on his trike. I heard he was replacing it with a Mini Cooper, but he could only swing a Fiat 500 because Obammer spent all of the military’s retirement fund on Hillary’s campaign.

No one has mentioned the use of a House Mouse or 2. Gary, not many people know what that is. I had a recruit who was 6'9". I made him my house MOOSE! Actually, Tom Stalker is in central NY. Shipping might be about the same as from NC. I knew that. I don't know why I said that. Sir, that is as fine of advice a man can get. Thank you for sharing. Who has some more. Better yet, who has the smallest area? I may be able to win. A spot I had years ago when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune. I had a 4x8 she'd that I couldn't stand in. I would sit on a bucket and work on fur. But I had electricity. Lol.

USMC47, Quick question, does the Corps still use the (Mechanical Mule) or is that a long gone item? Used to see them when I would be down at Pendleton on business from up at El Toro. Sanford, if you mean the little 4 wheeled platform that could pull things around, they've been gone for quite a while now. In warehouse environments the supply guys now use trams that are similar to the airport buggies that pull luggage and whatnot. In combat, nearly everything is hauled by 7-ton trucks or HMMWVs.

John I'd suggest a walk in cooler somewhere in your shop area, a space where you could either hang a beef or big game animals then a butcher shop area with a chest freezer or two close by since I've got a feeling you'll be doing something hunting as well. A rail system into the cooler would be helpful also for dealing with 1/4's of beef or what ever a walk in freezer would be great also while I'm at it a smoker somewhere close by would be a great addition so you can make sausage, hams, jerky or ???? A area for a old ringer washing machine for muddy critters is critical with a rack or some sort to dry the fur, that when not in use will or could be moved out of the way. A generator is another thing I'd add to the mix just because this is Montana and power outages are rare but still possible solar panels and a few batteries could be added also in time. There ya go a little something to think about in your spare time ha ha Allan

Wow jeff some trappers we are! all this chat about a fur shed and your the first to mention a dehumidifier! lol - it's the little things ... I mention it as I didn't enclose an area specifically for drying - I am able to keep enough air circulating that I didn't have an issue the last 2 seasons, but I do miss my smaller space and a dehumidifier, I do think it helps a LOT.

I bought a brand new surplus stainless steel 3 tub bar sink with 2 counter tops for $3. I built a cabinet base and installed it. Works very well.
