I think there are only two countries still in the stone age using English measure, some s-- hole country in Africa and the USA.Even the brits went metric and they invented the other system. Using "stone age" techniques the USA still leads the world.

You think we are not headed to metrics? Go work on your car and see what wrenches you use. I work on all kinds of things. My biggest problem is knowing which system to go with. Leads who?Not many following anymore. Right. Your trolling won't work here. Lol. Go kiss a moose.

Metric makes everything much easier. How many litres come in those completely impractical milk bags you Canucks are so fond of?

When I was still working, I worked in the maintenance/design/engineering shop. We often had to switch between Metric and Imperial measurements. Half of the machines we had in the plant were built on the Metric system and half were built on Imperial. We were much using the multipliers 25.4 and .03937 to convert. The Mill had digitals making it very easy to jump between the two systems. Once you start using the Metric system, and get used to it, it is a very nice system. You just had to make sure you did not forget what system you were using when you were on a project.

Once you start using the Metric system, and get used to it, it is a very nice system. Oh sure first step is using metric. Next step is you're trading in your coffee maker for a tea kettle. Before you know it, soccer is your favorite sport... You see? It's a slippery slope.

When we were born, none of us knew either system. If you grew up with one system or the other, it's easy for you. I grew up with inches and pounds, so that's what's easy for me. That being said, as a mechanic if I need a wrench one size bigger or smaller than the one I grabbed, it's a lot easier to go from 18 to 19 (counting by ones) then to remember 1/16ths and convert it to something lower, like 11/16ths to 3/4ths, for example.

Then you experience a strong desire to speak French and wear frilly clothing Next thing you know you're carrying this picture of Trudeau at a gay pride parade and several times a day you get all misty when you take it out of your purse and kiss it. Right Boco?
Eh...wot?

If change were easy you'd have to be a fool to not think metric would be easier. A change like that wouldnt be easy though so I ain't gonna do it

I wish we would go metric........ I could eventually weed out half of my tools.
As a seasoned mechanic I can look at any nut or bolt and grab a wrench for it with nearly 100% accuracy.

Yep, easier for "slow" people.
