??? Will the drill replace an electric hoist for yotes and coon? Did a lot of coon last year, a few coyotes, and a couple of otter. If the drill can't handle it, a ratchet and socket can be used for "manual" mode.

Classic example of "where there's a will, there's a way." Good job. I imagine though that drill cost more than an electric hoist. However if you already have the drill and boat winch it'll certainly save you money.

However if you already have the drill and boat winch it'll certainly save you money. My wife picked up the drill and charger at a yard sale for $5, no batteries. She got me a two pack of knock off batteries online for around $20. Been a good little drill, use it a lot in the off season for all kinds of projects. Figure most people have some kind of drill laying around. Probably not the best set up for the high volume, long liners but gets the job done and saves a lot on the ol' back and shoulders. My 13 year old daughter loves it.

Do you have pictures of the bottom half or pictures in use? No pics in use, and I just started to redo my base I'll get some pics whens it's done. It's just a basic tube steel base with vise grips on each end.

Have you actually used this? LLL Yes, all last season, works great. My daughter and I did several coons, 3 otters, and 6 coyotes. We also used it to hoist 2 deer for skinning and butchering. We both love it, even to skin "manually " we can get the critter at the right height for each of us. On a full charge it can lift me (180 lbs) from the floor to the ceiling in about 3 seconds. It can bog a little on the shoulders of a yote, but a few wacks of a ball peen in the pits, a little manual tugging, pop the legs with a piece of broom stick, and good to go to the nose. The drill is only a 12 volt so a bigger drill could produce more power. My Makita has a slow "torque" setting and a faster "drill" setting ; I use it on the "torque" setting.
