Absolutely! PBS news makes me sick but otherwise they have some great shows...actually watching country music now. I work with a lot of young people and end up listening to a lot of....garbage? Was at work and I put on Buck Owens “made in Japan” and a kid tried to tell me he was a one hit wonder. I’ll be 40 in December but I feel like I shoulda been born in 53.

Very good show. Yes, many of the country stars (and other genres) have serious issues. Some were taken, some made it. Sometimes it seems the more hardship they face, the better their music is. Watching where some of them were born and grew up makes me want to tell kids nowadays to shut up and quit whining.
Can't remember which lady said it, maybe Connie Smith, but "if you sing about what you're doing, it'll be country music." No higher message, no world changing lyrics, just real life. And every now and then, one of those real life sings can change the world.

I do not like the newer Country music. I am a 60,70 and 80 guy! LOL People in the 50's didn't t like the "new" country then either, they were fans of the 20's and 30's. But, I'm with you. This whole "bro" and rap country movement sucks.

Saw Waylon in 74,he opened for Roger Mcguinn. Quite the show. Mcguinn and the Byrds, were the first rock group to play the opry. Both put on great shows. Tom
