What brand face mask/goggle combo is that, and does it work well with glasses? Enjoy reading your post.

Amazing, JR. So admire the ability to think outside the box and improve that snow machine as you did. Perfect.

The paths in the trail look perfect.

As always, I love the mountains and dimensions they show in the lighting.

I just know there is a smile inside that warm mask and helmet grin

Be safe and take care.

st99....The shocks blew out and were leaking fluid. Factory warranty and replaced with the same thing.

FL cracker in AK.... not sure what the mask brand is. Got them off the internet. Just look up 2 piece goggle facemask combo. Around $40 or $50. They work great with my one set of glasses that I just broke on this last trip. Not with my other sets of glasses though..

The journey is over for this season. Came home from a couple week trip out to the mountains. Got all the freight hauled, gear pulled, wood cut and broke into some new country. The mods that I did to the Expedition were great in the overflow but not for the deep snow

She did good freighting though. 1400 lbs load 51 feet long 40 miles.

The Wood River was angry but let me dig my gear up and get out of there without too much trouble.

The weather was crazy from -10 to 54 degrees, snow, rain, sunny and any combination. I took advantage of every nice day to get out and explore.

Found this little marten on a moose kill and pretty sure she's the little gal that I let go a few times. She sure was photogenic though. [Linked Image]

Sat down 6 or 7 feet from her while she fed.

Could have spent hours with her. She sure was vocal.

Got into some country I'd never been. Played on the glacier but got scared and got off. [Linked Image]

Had a new alarm the other day. Scared the heck out of me. It shut itself off though.

Put a little over 3500 miles on this season even when I didn't get started until January. All that snow made for some good travel.

Didn't put a lot of fur up this year but had a great season. You all be safe and have a great summer

You are one blessed person JR.

Your letting the best kept secret out though. It's really not as much the trapping as it is being there.

Thanks for sharing your life with us!

Wonderful scenery , once again, JR.

Isn't it exciting to explore new turf. I'm glad the snow base was basically cooperative to do so. That was quite the haul length, and your snow machine did so well. I always like seeing how folks pack their gear during a trip.

Beautiful mountain ranges , to beg exploration into the valleys to see them closer. Always get a kick out of the groomer with that rooster tail billowing up.

The marten just had me transfixed. I always love observing behaviors with them, as well as wolverine . Seems like there's such little moving video of them. I learn volumes watching videos like these. I am certain that your capture is among the best ever documented of natural behavior . I would guess , seeing her constant watchful eye upon you , that her talking so much was directly inspired by your presence . She was just telling you how tough she was , and that she owned that supper , and surely wasn't afraid . smile Really enjoyed that clear , perfect documentation.

Lovely country, exploring, enjoying life.

Thank you , JR, for sharing .

Looks like a great spring out there. Neat seeing the marten on the moose carcass. Great pics and video!

Cool marten footage! The woodpecker reminded me of a woodpecker that used to come and beat his head against our chimney at around 5 am. The sound would sure carry.

Great stuff JR. That moose doesn't look like a wolf kill.

Thanks everyone..

white17... When the red backed vole populations are low, the marten prey on other food sources. She seemed to think that moose was her kill and who was I to argue with her. She was pretty ornery.

Wow...more video of herself- and a friend ! No wonder she was talking....in keeping an eye on yourself, she was also convincing the visitor to take his number in line and wait !

What a way to try and enjoy a candle light dinner !

Thank you, JR....I really like these videos.

Greeting trappers. Happy Summer. Just flew in from the trapping cabin. Spent 3 days out there cleaning up, mowing the airstrip, checking trail cams and went shed hunting for a day. Got a few half az pics on the trail cams out of the 12 thousand pics I had to sort through. [Linked Image]

I'll back up. Been spending a bunch of time in the shop building traps. Getting a lot done with all the chaos going on around the world. [Linked Image]

Passed up a date with a beautiful woman and the chance to go bear hunting to stay and build traps. Something may be wrong again, maybe time for another checkup. Finally came to my senses. Arrowed this little dry chocolate black bear sow. Never harvested a color phase black bear so was pretty happy with this little sow and the meat was fantastic.

After taking care of the bear, went on the date with the beautiful woman. Took her to Denali park looking at critters. Found the same cow from last year and she had twins again this year. [Linked Image]

Back to this past week. Went out looking for shed antlers and did pretty well for hiking around for about 4 1/2 hours
