Boil them and leave em to rust. Maybe spray them with vinegar water

Trapping is what built North America, why take that away?

After adding the vinegar, rinse them well as vinegar is an acid .You want to remove the oils--which should be already done with the vinegar. This will allow the traps to get a fine coating of rust.

You could just wax 'em after they are degreased

I use a citrus based degreaser that is used for cleaning around the house. Put traps in bucket, spray down real good, add hot water & let set over night. Then dump out traps & set outside to rust

Don’t rust them. Just degrease and wax. You wouldn’t rust you tools before using them so why do it to your traps after a few seasons of use you’ll be wishing they wouldn’t rust lol.
