There were three prop guns on a cart near where the crew was rehearsing.

An assistant director then grabbed one of the guns and handed it to Alec Baldwin.

That assistant director then proclaimed to the crew the term “Cold Gun” – which is a term used to let the crew know a gun with NO live rounds was being used.

At that point, the search warrant states Alec Baldwin then fired the gun.

The warrant states cinematographer Halyna Hutchins sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigators say the director, Joel Souza, was standing behind Hutchins and sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The assistant director tells investigators he did not know there were any rounds in the gun he gave to Baldwin.

Investigators say when they came on scene, Baldwin appeared to have bloodstains on his clothing.

Investigators collected that clothing and brought Baldwin in for a statement.



So let me see if I understand this right, the assistant director hands alec a gun says "cold gun" which means no live ammo didn't know if there were any rounds in the gun. Alec then didn't check the gun. That is negligence on both of them and as Sniper mentions involuntary manslaughter

Gun violence is getting out of hand.
Now pop guns are killing people.

This is NM, where elites and politicans are very corrupt and protected at all costs.

I would really hope it was an accident but it's too fishy to be an accident. Yes everyone and anyone who touched the gun and ammo should be responsible.

I'll take that bet. But I hope somebody is held accountable.

Sounds like the union crew walked off the set because of work safety issue and budget cuts before this took place. It’s like giving a baby a gun to play with, with the lack of experience remaining most likely.

The half-dozen camera crew operators and their assistants left the set of the Western over a dispute about working conditions, including long hours and low pay, three people not authorized to speak publicly told the newspaper.

An unnamed “knowledgeable person” said that there had been three prop gun mishaps before the fatal shooting – two on Saturday and one last week, telling the Times, “there was a serious lack of safety meetings on this set.”

Whoever let that pos get close to anything bigger than an airsoft gun should have to have a mental health evaluation -- and yes he did shoot them -- he pulled the trigger. I don't care that he was acting in character or not.

I can't warp my head around someone taking a gun and pointing it at someone that hadn't been inspected by the one pulling the trigger prior to the trigger pull.
Heck, I'd flinch knowing it was empty empty.

Was the gun ever concealed while in Baldwin's possesion? Concealed carry is regulated in NM. Does Baldwin have a concealed carry permit? Is there an exception for art? Hang him, that's what he'd do if it was you.

He wouldn't qualify for ccw in NM since he is a resident of NY and NY does not have reciprocity with NM. That means it would be a felony for him to conceal carry

There does seem to be a huge disconnect between the hollywierd liberals and common sense -- lack of responsibillity also.

Since it is illegal for a New York resident to carry a concealed firearm in NM, I assume Baldwin can’t conceal it even if it is part of the scene on the movie set.

How does a live round "accidentally" get into a prop gun? I ain't buying that this was an accident.

So much for due process. The Trapperman lynch mob has spoken.

I don’t like the guy anymore than the rest of folks here. But. He should be afforded the same unbiased courtesy that we would want for ourselves or family.

If found guilty then he should be beaten senseless with the book and locked away. Until then like it or not, he’s an innocent citizen with the same rights as every one of us.

If any charges are filed it will probably be some negligent charge against a prop guy or stage hand.

This is just a mostly peaceful discussion......not the judge and jury. Have a cup of coffee and simmer down.
