Have seen many good bucks walking by this tree over the past 30 years. It right at the top of a steep riverbank.
I've always wanted to put a stand there but it's super thick. Pricklyash/buckthorn. Horrible getting in there!
Decided today was go time. I'm making progress.
Super excited for this tree for future bowhunts.

And yes, those are all deer trails you see. It's a major travel route.

I would cut a trail within 20 yards of the stand and rake it clean and the deer will take the trail away from you.

looks great bucksnbears, there's only one thing better than trapping and that's deer hunting.

I have 16 ladder stands up all year long. Some are 20 yrs old. Seats are metal mesh and Butt pads are t he only thing that has to come in after season.
Deer get used to what's out there. 9 of us hunting we went this way. Once a year we go out pre season to check ratchet straps.
