DU was always more concentrated on habitat when they were actually in the business of conservation. Now they’re in the revenue and publicity business. They spend very little money anymore on projects that actually help waterfowl.
Delta has been habitat AND predator management minded.

Delta is much more hunter and trapper friendly than DU. They keep their focus on their true goal. DU wants money. Repeat, repeat, and repeat. The goal is simply a tool to get money. They do enough to keep up appearances.

I haven't got much use for DU around here. They have gone on record stating that they would sell hunters down the river in favor of anti money. Delta is where my money goes and as an added bonus, they are staunch supporters of trapping Where can this record be found? If anyone is interested in actual facts, you can look up the annual reports for both organizations.

DU is a good organization, but they are a look at me org. Delta is also a good organization, they don’t care what folks think, they just want results. Both know trapping works, one just chooses to not advertise to keep the money flowing. Over the years I have belonged to both .And there have been times I did not belong to either .I was a Habitat Chairman for a Pheasants Forever chapter for 27 years also .My experience has been DU and PF do not spend much effort supporting trapping. Delta Waterfowl being the only one that understands trapping can be a valuable tool to control ground nesting predators DU and PF promote themselves as habitat organizations only My personal experience has been that I get as much negative feedback from hunters as non hunters when it comes to trapping .In spite of the fact that trappers and trapping benefit hunters at no cost .And do not compete for the same wildlife species .

Baby ducks must be the truffles to the predator world. I have a few broods of domestics every year on my ponds, and if the coons dont get them, the owls, hawks, turtles, snakes and here lately the Blue Herons will get them. And I have been very persuasive in discouraging them all. I think the blue Herons are why I no longer see large frogs or many big enough to harvest. Just my theory and I can't prove it but I saw the chang as I started seeing more Herons. I also started having those yellow worms in fish. I'm no fan of those birds. You could be right, I think in my ponds the disappearance of bull frogs has been the work of some Catfish .

You won't find it on record and I was probably not specific enough noting that my issue is entirely with the local chapters ("DU around here"). When there was a direct effort to prohibit hunting/access at some of the only remaining public hunting here, DU turned yellow belly up and referenced their policy regarding hunting and firearms regulation. When asked to clarify that position AND if they would abandon hunters if taking a position would endanger fundraising from the bunny huggers the answer was "yes". These were private conversations between groups of people who included local representation from DU. I also recall fundraising efforts in the 80's that were directed at anti's... all kinds of BS about how they were protecting wolves and other animals that were cooler than ducks. So, I'll eat a little crow here - what I stated above is definitely opinion... but it's my opinion LOL PS - I don't mind you calling me out here at all so plz don't read any negativity into my response. Happy trapping.
Just happy to be here.

If habitat can be improved or expanded due to DU and Latte libs that benefits hunters and trappers.
Just cause you can't hunt/trap a property that in itself is not bad. Its a seed source that overflows on other properties.
True, BUT what harm are they doing in the process? If they are silent and on the sidelines when we are fighting for trapping they can expect the same from us when they need help. But I honestly think it goes deeper than that. I believe we have the same elitist culture war going on in the outdoor community as is going on in our larger society. As an example I don't believe hunting will ever be fully outlawed. But hound hunting may be as will fur/sport trapping. Basically if you are of a certain class, ie, money, you'll still be able to hunt in a certain fashion. The only trapping allowed will be in support of that as long as we keep it out of sight.

Trout Unlimited is even worse. How many salmon does the average trout eat each year? Probably the same as the pike that it is illegal to rdelease alive.
