k snow OP trapper K Joined: Oct 2009 east central WI	I'll let the pics do most of the work. She is ready for range day tomorrow. 36 caliber, 45 inch long swamped barrel by Rice. Grade 3 maple stock. L&R Dickert lock. John Rupp of the Lehigh Valley school influenced design.

Bob_Iowa trapper B Joined: Jan 2019 North central Iowa	That looks nice, I don’t know much about flintlock rifles, so does the longer barrel give you that much more accuracy? I use 22 for squirrels and found the shorter the barrel the easier it is to use where I hunt.

I like the longer barrels mainly for looks. Short barrels are easier to get through the thick stuff though.

Ohio Wolverine trapper Joined: Apr 2007 ohio	Very nice gun, and you're right , a shorter gun is easier to get through the woods, but has better accuracy . Have to admit , your gun proves where the trem " long gun " comes from. We have met the enemy and the enemy is us!
