I'll let the pics do most of the work. She is ready for range day tomorrow. 36 caliber, 45 inch long swamped barrel by Rice. Grade 3 maple stock. L&R Dickert lock. John Rupp of the Lehigh Valley school influenced design.

That looks nice, I don’t know much about flintlock rifles, so does the longer barrel give you that much more accuracy? I use 22 for squirrels and found the shorter the barrel the easier it is to use where I hunt.

The longer barrel puts the sights further apart, which makes accuracy easier. I like the longer barrels mainly for looks. Short barrels are easier to get through the thick stuff though.

Thank you, that makes sense about the sight distance.

Very nice gun, and you're right , a shorter gun is easier to get through the woods, but has better accuracy .
Have to admit , your gun proves where the trem " long gun " comes from.

Just think....if yah miss ....you can just poke that squirrel with the end of the barrel !

35-40 grains of FFF ...should get that pea shootah crackin !

Looks great with that extra length
