If theres an animal in N. America I need to kill or want to hunt I have the proper tool no matter the season.
Firearm manufacturers need to sell guns. To do that they pay gun writers and magazines for articles. Just cause it doesn't say AD at the top of the page doesn't mean its not.
If the tool you choose makes you happy stick with it. What I think of it or what the blow hard down the street from you thinks of it, is unimportant.
There are people who choose not to learn where the bullet should go, do not put in enough practice and even some for whom practice wont help. If you ever seen military firearm training in boot camp some people just cant shoot.
Who cares? It doesn't make you special or any better of a human because you practice and put in the time. Even on those TV reality shows a successful hunt is not the difference between survival and starving.
A guy that shoots and hunts poorly is still less likely to support a gun grabbing politician.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

If you'd hear the amount of shooting that goes on a day or two right before Deer season around here from people either sighting in their gun or taking their first shots since last year checking the gun, it's no wonder people miss Deer.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Did I open the wrong can of worms? Could have. Don't you know no one need so shoot past 50 yards or any thing besides a 30/30 to kill a deer.

Why do I have the feeling no one is gonna understand what the videos are even about.... ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/10/full-34110-153273-edd324b4c9dcda260fd4ec3293cd1a4c.jpg) Is that Eric Cortina? Needs More eh? So not about the 6.5 but all about after market mods? Perhaps it would help of somebody (perhaps them) had explained what they were up to, or perhaps the Needs More is a series that is understood?

OK, had a chance to watch all those, and yes, that was Eric. Interesting that he could take an inexpensive Rem 700 and go from a 3 MOA gun to sub MOA and was not hard doing it. I'm working on a 6mm Rem and have done somewhat the same. Factory wood stock now has free floated barrel and action was pillar bedded. Also has a new Timney trigger. Load ladders ready to go.
As one who started reloading recently, with focus on loading for accuracy, one of the most interesting theories I've run into is the issue of seating depth. Seems to be near dogma that guys want to chase the lands. Eric put out a series of videos that ran counter to that. His use of factory ammo in these videos proved the same. You don't need to. What matters more is timing of the bullet to barrel harmonics for the load in question. He does it in these videos with a harmonics barrel tuner. He did it in the other videos by altering seating depth of bullet......but far off the lands.
Second thing that came to me about lack of need to load to the lands was how many gun makers offer a 1 MOA or less accuracy guarantee, contingent only on use of factory match ammo. All of that is loaded to SAMMI specs and none of it customized to the gun.

6.5 or not the video is all about the simple things that can make a rifle really shoot
they just needed something with real potential for accuracy to use as a benchmark

I don't deer hunt, but that's why I said in my original post that I had no reason to practice a 625-yard shot because it's unethical.

It is your Ethical duty as an American to know how to own your 1/4 mile 440 yards
