I am looking for ideas of good quality wood stove for a 6 x 7 deer stand. Hoping for a good quality small stove. I dont want to use any propane
To add, I need one I can buy, I have no time or desire to start fabricating one with my busy schedule
Please share your suggestions

I think it was Danny who had a good looking stove in his wall tent. Maybe he'll chime in.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

The one in my spear house is made from a steel 5 gallon pail. It is pictured in the Les Kuba spearing prints.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Thanks for the info on Kouba's-Darkhouse Spearing. Because of you, I had to go downstares and go through the prints.Darkhouse spearing is one of the best sellers of Kouba's prints. A bottle of Grand Canadian, sits next to that good looking stove. Tom

A bottle of Grand Canadian, sits next to that good looking stove. Tom Tom, interesting story. Many years ago my parents bought all the spear houses from Red Cedar Lodge (as I recall) where Kouba's print was inspired. The houses were EXACTLY the same as the prints right down to the nails to hold the decoys, whiskey bottle for Kerosene and the skimmer made from copper tubing. I kept one and have rebuilt it many times and still have it. The reactions on people's faces when they first went into our rental houses were priceless and people often commented that they felt like they were sitting in that print.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Some folks wear coveralls and tough it out. Why? I sit in an enclosed, heated stand that is 65 degrees and can comfortably sit daylight to dark so obviously see more deer.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I made a five gallon bucket stove for in a 4x8 spearing house in the late 1970's. I could get it way too hot in that house in about three minutes and be looking for my coat twenty minutes later. If I put enough wood in to start a fire, i was too hot. It was maybe a great thing to have a wood stove back before there were good propane options. But no way I would want one in that small an area from what I saw of the one I had.

I've seen small backpacking stoves for sale. No idea on quality or brands but a quick Google search should give you comparisons. We used to use a metal coffee can and charcoal when we were kids but that was in a stand not an inclosed blind.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.
