Too many variables to make an accurate count. Distance between sets, knowing exact location you are going to make the sets, how many traps per location...
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
Lots of variables. At my age a couple dozen is about all I want to set . That’s not all day but I am not a longliner or a pro. We have a lot of red clay here and it is slow compared to river bottom sand that I get to work in every once in a while.
The first year I ever got very serious about trapping I had and put out all 116 of my traps. I drove from what ever job site I worked at to Piqua, Ohio to Arlington, Ohio and back home to Dayton. Yes, I caught fur and shot a lot of ducks and rabbits, but I did much, much better in later years, except on the ducks and rabbits, when I usually set 34 traps or less, with much more skill. You're going to catch more by putting in a lesser number of better sets, rather than putting out loads of poor quality sets.
