Wife needed a new vehicle, I had her driving a 2008 crown vic police car with a car seat in it and even my dad said we looked like white trash...

Using my work truck now, I need a new personal one but am not sure what I'm going to get. Maybe another Tacoma or Tundra.

Thats probably about right. The real unicorn trucks are the F450 platinums, they will sell all day every day for $120K+. Where all the vehicles are going, I have no earthly idea, but you would think somebody is buying them, melting them and repeating by the market for them.

Going up 20% would put barebone diesel work trucks at around $100,000. I need a new work truck, fusterating to pay anywhere close to 6 figures for one.

If you have a work fleet account, I can point you in the right direction, so you won't have to pay 6 figures. Send me a pm if this is the case and you are interested.

I've had Lariats, King Ranches, Platinum's and I'm really struggling with turning a $70K vehicle into a trapping truck... and they all end up that way no matter how hard I try. Thinking of scaling down to an XLT or going a different direction all together.

Apparently new truck prices are not outrageously high as people keep buying them.

$100,000+ may seem like a lot of money, but at least you get a fancy tailgate that opens three directions and turns into a computer desk.

I wish they made a truck I actually want. I want one that comes from the factory with 36" tires 4x4 with lockers. Bucket seats and an interior that's 100% water proof and can be sprayed out at the car wash. Made out of steel thick enough you can sit on the hood or have some kids run into the side horse playing and not cause 8k in body Damage.

Heat and ac with am fm radio would be nice also.

Something like an M 37 would be very nice so you could have a usable truck but still fold down the wind shield and remove the top and putt around on Sundays like jeep.

They can keep all the electronics. Gas or diesel and the top speed of 70mph for the interstate would be great.

You know a true off road truck that should only be about 25k and a much better.for me vehicle than those fancy trucks I don't want anyway.

I guess I could go fancy with my dream truck and add on board air compressor and front and rear winches.

I guess if I want it I'm going to have to build it myself.

I got a 2005 f-150 that will get a new engine when it’s need . I can throw a remanufactured engine and tranny in it for under 8000.I won’t pay 60-70 thousand for a truck.

That may work in your location but everything that is used here in the winter is a rust bucket in 10 years.

That's the truth. Any halfway decent, used vehicle in this area comes from the south. The rest are toast

Man I wish we could do that here. Unfortunately the motor outlasts the body.

Why Is everyone worked up about new fossil fuel internal combustion engine truck prices ? Just go out and buy an affordable electric truck that uses free fossil fuel electricity. LOL, Will be driving my 2014 Tundra until the body falls off, or when I can no longer afford gasoline, which ever comes first.

I did that....but it truly is a great trapping truck. As long as the electricity doesn't come from wind or hydro dams, I am good to go. I hope all you guys if given the opportunity will think about it at some point, because with a few mods jeez it literally is like the ultimate trapping and hunting vehicles. For my F150 Lightning, I spoke with the Lightning team and let them know that they would have a lot more sales if they had a long bed(6.5FT on the F150s) , 6 seats like every other F150 can have, and to get rid of the factory 20s and just go with 18s. They were really receptive, so I will have no problem buying another one if they will have a long bed at the minimum, the shorter bed sucks bad for me. My 2004 F350 has a 8 foot bed, and my 2016 F150 has a 6.5Ft bed.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Come talk to me in 20 years heck even in 10 and we will talk about jow great that electric truck is doing and how great it is.
I am driving a 1997 now and it was a 1998 every day before this one. Your electric truck won't last and the battery mining and disposal Is worse for the environment many time over and that's not getting into the all the tax payer paid for discounts or fossils fuel powered power plants that run it.

Probably shouldn't bring up the fire hazards of the charging or when the battery's explode. Or no mater how unpractical they are for the largest % of the population thay are jamming them down everyone's throat.

I'm sure for some people they can be great. People tha t get a new vehicles every few years and won't deal with the 20k battery replacement if they can even get a replacement when it's needed. And people that live in a warmer climate and in urban settings.
For me they don't make financial since or practical since either.

Explain how you select for electricity that doesn't come from wind or hydro. When I plug something in I only get what comes out of the outlet.

Wow. I don’t think I will ever afford a new truck. I don’t do loans so that’s a lot of cash to save up. I bought a 2001 Toyota Tundra with 150k miles on it today for $2500. My 08 f-150 has 210k miles on it and will get a new engine when it goes out.
