I use to have them but can’t remember who made them and the years made. Was their more than one brand? Anybody know? Just curious.

There were several makers of jump-or underspring traps. Victor was probably the largest one. Tom

Blake and Lamb, Kompakt, Victor I don’t remember the Kompakt trap. Did they make other traps? Do you know about the year theses companies stop making these traps?

Blake Lamb & Co began making underspring traps in the mid 1800s and their earliest marked traps have an 1859 patent date. The Oneida Community began making underspring traps in the late 1800s with a trap marked with three stars and today call the STAR trap. That OC trap was followed by a succession of traps marked in order Oneida Community and Oneida Jump. Although the Oneida jumps were marked with a large V stamped from the pan after about 1910, they never referred to the undersprings as Victors as that name was used for their long spring traps. Several companies including Triumph and Niagara Falls Stamping briefly made underspring traps but none were very successful. Names of some of those traps include Arrow and Bullock. Both Blake Lamb &Co and the Animal Trap Co(who had bought out the Oneida Community) continued to make underspring traps into the 1970s. Many of the earlier traps are quite scarce with considerable collector value.

I still have some and set them once in a while. I really like them.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Me too. B&L 1.5 jump is a great rat and mink trap imo And have no problem holding coons also.I have quite a few B&L 1 1/2 jumps that I still use mostly at water drowning sets for rats mink and coon.

The only trouble I ever had with them was....if I set them hair trigger, the wave action of the water would set them off. Checked a bunch of snapped off traps until I started setting them with more dog in the notch.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Illegal to possess them here, that being said they work great for catching barn rats too. #1 jumps were my go to barn rat traps as a kid. Caught my first 3 fox at the age of 6 with a #1 jump set on a crossing log, every time it snowed and covered the trap I got a fox (they dropped in the water and drowned). When the stream froze over I was done. Eric, illegal to set or illegal to have hanging in a family room or den?
