Steve, you feel better now. He should feel good. He may be saving the planet from global warming on our dime making Davis Bacon wages.

MattLA I can see right through you. Your only on TMAN to cause trouble and promote liberalism and animal rights. Glad I'm not the only one who sees this!! Also, around here the UAW did away with "pensions" years ago. They switched to a 401K. When I was in the GM Lordstown plant I couldn't believe what I saw. On the line where they made the Chevrolet Cavalier and the Pontiac Sunbird there was a guy that ran out of bolts in his bin and the box of bolts were at his feet. He stood there and when ask why he didn't open the box and fill the bin he said, it ain't my job. So they hit the button, stopped the line, and waited 20 minutes for an expediter to fill his bin. This was just one account of things I saw.

If people have a problem with their employer they have every right to not go to work. If they get together and refuse to work for whatever reason thats their right also. We are not slaves. The problem with unions is they have become national organizations run by gangsters. They do stuff like make "loans" of pension funds to other gangsters. They take bribes from employers to make sure they don't have labor problems. The list of corruption is almost endless. so is the propaganda they constantly spew.

Danny, maybe you missed it. I think it's wrong to bail out pensions. I think it's wrong to bail out banks farmers and I would like to see unemployment insurance done away with.
I noticed you danced around my question if the Hwy 169 job paid Davis bacon.

Isn't Davis Bacon where the government inflates the price of labor?

Your mad at unions,,for something the corrupt government administration is doing? Hahahaaaaa Instead of wanting to ban unions(for something they didn't even do) why don't you ban corrupt polititions instead? If you don't like the Dems coddling unions,,vote the Dems out of office.

First, I deeply apologize sincerely for this outlandish behavior to my fellow trappers, but sometimes you have to prove a point to people the hard way. For my Native American friends, this is not a slant against you either, the animal in the picture is one I deeply respect and I am honored to have the privilege to display it upon my head. Now on to the the business; Danny, which one do you want? Each cost $3k just for the rifle. If black guns aren't your style, might I introduce the gun that has killed more bison, deer, elk and moose than any other rifle caliber in the history of the United States of America. The one and only, true model 94 pre 64 in 30-30, rugged and light, accurate and true, a favorite among true American heroes. Danny, one of the great benefits of being in the union is that they have excellent vision insurance, maybe had you done your time in one, you coulda got them eyes checked, cause they definitely aren't seeing true! ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/12/full-55830-160138-20221209_142258.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/12/full-55830-160136-20221209_142425.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/12/full-55830-160137-20221209_142912.jpg)

Profit is what the owners make after expenses, some expenses are wages, some wages are higher because it’s still cheaper than than fixing screw ups or in my line of work paying out death or injury benefits because you hired the cheap labor. Like Danny conceded it’s well within the rights of qualified journeyman lineman to join together and say “if you want our expertise, pay us well”.
I’ve been doing linework since I was 21 and after 13 years I’ve never seen this “not my job, can’t open a bag of bolts nonsense” we do all the hot work and climbing requirements you’d expect as well as, metering, working on trucks and plumbing in our shop from time to time. I don’t like the bail outs, I don’t like the politics, but don’t keep saying this union workers are lazy and useless bull feces. You sound like the left lumping everyone who disagrees into a big box and calling them racists

Well bernie, my point is that by passing a 4 year certified apprenticeship, you are guaranteeing to a potential employer that you know the full spectrum of what is expected of a journeyman lineman and if you don’t you will be fired.
Most non union guys haven’t done an apprenticeship. But you are right there are some good lineman there too. I painted with too broad a brush.

The union I belong to got us all hams, choice of pumpkin, pecan or apple pie a hi viz toboggan and a engraved mag lite flashlight. Guess what the company got us. Yes you guessed it, nothing. I know it wasn’t a lot but it was at least a nice gesture by the union for all of us 700 members.
