teach him to c'mere teach him to walk on a lead, teach him to load in your pick up. keep working on that stuff till the squirrels in your yard are making him crazy. then take him hunting. when he trees pet him up good. when he leaves a tree the squirrel is still in bring him back and encourage him to stay there. work on staying there till you get there.
you cant teach him to hunt or tree. he will either do it or he wont. some dogs start young and some dont get going good till they are a year and a half old. if you keep him in a fenced back yard or on a chain where squirrels show up pretty regular he will tell you when its time to start hunting

PS, if you keep him a yard or kennel or chain, take him fishing with you or arrowhead hunting or anything else to get him out running around. Dont forget the obedience training. you start that as soon as you get the dog

Also the aggressive behavior needs to be handled but go easy with it. Curs aren't hounds, they are a little more sensitive.

Just like people they learn at their own pace. My female was treeing early around 6 months. That aggression needs stopped ASAP. She has amazed me on how well she keeps track of them timbering.

Do not tolerate that aggressiveness towards you, make sure that the dog understands that you are the ultimate alpha or as he gets older that will cause you a lot of problems. Otherwise as others have said other than obedience it is just about spending time in the woods. The best thing to do is get ahold of his collar or the scruff of his neck and slam him to the ground and hold him there until you want to let him up. If he fights it hold him down. To a dog being down and something having it's neck is a death hold. Hold him until he does not move. Every once in a while lay him down and pin him down until he gets where he does not fight it. It will be easier to do now than when he is full grown. The more time you spend with a dog the better the dog will understand what you want. You can not locke a dog up and take it out three times a year and have a good dog.
