Well, how about this one,,, say you own a restaurant and you have posted a no smoking sign. Then there's a guy that comes in and lights up a big old stinky cigar. You tell him to put it out, even put it out for him a couple times but every few days he comes back and fires up another cigar. The other patrons of your restaurant, love the food and everything, and they respect your rule, but they don't like the smoke so they quit coming by as often.
How would you feel about it? Which is worse the person who put up with the smoking for whatever reason, or the person who's always whining about the smoker? That's good question. I guess as a business owner I'd have to decide which is best for the good of the business.

How would you feel about it? Trespass the person That's what I would immediately do as soon as he lit the cigar up for the second time. Keith

Let's suppose a person owns an internet chat forum. "Rules say it's "a family type website" You have a member that has been very nice for years. He would even give away a lot of tools and other merchandise to members including owner. He also volunteers his time and always help members when asked He even contributes hundreds of dollars to sites fund for members who have had terrible luck with life's events. Over a few month period the man changes seems angry at the group and shows ill will towards some outspoken members. He is remove because some members complained. Later its discovered by many discover that he was having severe medical issues involving his heart which affected his thought process. He received medical treatment for his heart condition and now is fine. Should you apologize to him and let him back on the site after explaining to the group his past medical issues? Or let him remain abolished without an apology? If it were my forum I'm sure I would of said I'm sorry to have to ban that person. Beyond that, I guess I'd have to decide what is best for the forum as a whole. Wavering on the rules and bans isn't in a forum's best interest IMO.

Ask them to take their boots off and clean up their mess. Fair enough, what if they come back every few days and do it again? Put a Porta John outside the fur shed, so Coonman ain't tromping through the house to get to the crapper....
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Ask them to take their boots off and clean up their mess. X2 Growing up I had a few friends were no shoes was an absolute rule or you were asked to leave by their parents.

My friends always take off their shoes; no signs necessary. As kids they got whipped if they didn't take their shoes off at the door. Probably is a cultural thing that has something to do with living in wet, muddy environments.

How would you feel about it? in WI you would ask him to stop then to leave , if he refuses call the sheriff , he can take his 2K trespassing ticket and his 100 dollar smoking fine. If you call it in as trespassing you don't get the fine for the establishment allowing smoking..
