Ammo shortage has never gotten better here. If you shoot .350 legend your ok. Every thing else good luck finding it in Communist NY.
Good thing my ammo hoarding skills were up to par years ago. I'll be okay for quite some time, just won't do as much plinking

Scheels has had it in stock almost regularly as of late. Can't be overly picky though.

Right now they for sure have federal 100 grain 5 bucks shipped to the door. Can't hardly drive to the store for 5 bucks.

The local Farm and Fleet has FULL ammo shelves for the first time in 2-3 years.

yes many of the more "hunting calibers " are very much a make a run of them and send them out , they just don't sit on the shelf like they used to for the next 12 months

they don't keep 22-250 set up and running 24 hours a day year round because there isn't the demand for it like 223 and 308

they have some machine lines they set up calibrate run a batch and then on to the next lower demand caliber

before you get too excited they also remodeled most of the stores and made the space for ammo 1/3 the size it used to be so the shelves are full but a fraction of the space it was several years ago.

they started doing this to some degree way back during the 22lr shortage taking shelves out after they sat empty a few months.

Large rifle primers are selling for a dollar a piece up here. $100 for 100 primers and they sell instantly at those prices. Powder also is selling for stupid prices if you can find it.

Yes, as did Monroes, However the dodgeville store, which is noted for being out of everything, still has a 6'x 12' area and first time in ever it is full

Monroe , Verona , Janesville. Platteville , Madison. all much smaller. Dodgeville might be the only store I haven't been to in years

Janesville had very little for 9mm Saturday they had some just not many options. 45acp and the hunting calibers were well stocked even had 308 American white tail with 150 or 165gr bullets available so my son stocked up for the holiday hunt , I have to work but he is headed to a property in Dane to eliminate as many does as they can/have tags for.

#5 is still not around anywhere I think they had a little #6

if you see #4 or #5 lead around send word I have enough for this season because I bought what I saw in April when I saw it hit the shelves in Monroe.
after that it was only #6 when they had anything more than 7.5 or 8 target loads.

There is a fairly large story . Here is a short part LOL

The sheer scale of the munitions and missiles sent to Ukraine illustrates just how much matériel a war can consume.

That includes more than 104 million rounds of small-arms ammunition, at least one million rounds of 155-millimeter artillery shells, 46,000 anti-tank weapons, more than 1,600 Stinger antiaircraft missiles and 8,500 Javelin anti-armor missiles, according to a Pentagon tally.

Industry has surplus ammunition and has for months now.

X2 these are what I've been waiting on for awhile now. I'm not out but I'd buy a few boxes.

If you can't find #5 loads, can you find #5 shot?

All this is why starting early last year, I padded my stash for shotguns and expanded into rifles. When you can roll your own, life gets easier.

BTW, ran across a guy this summer wanting to sell his dad's shotgun stuff. Included a Mec press, and components, including 8 bags of shot. 2 of those were #6. 1 of them #2. Former will get used or traded. Latter may get melted down from slugs, buckshot, etc, unless somebody can convince me they need it more. We stopped loading heavy lead for waterfowl when steel shot rules showed up.

I need to buy my dads Mec it is just sitting unused at his house , it is ready to load trap loads I would need a few things to run game loads but it might be worth it , I really don't go through that many boxes of shells pheasant hunting the limit is only 2 birds per person per day I like to have 5 boxes on hand for each of us but seldom even get through the 2nd box myself.
