We had ours today with Kielbasa and pork loin. A tradition that goes back generations.

Collards and blackeyed peas with rice. The pork is broiled country style ribs and if you got pork you must have a sweet potato to go with it. Or a yam ! Oh man...with lots of buttah on it all. With my southern style cake moist homemade cornbread to go with it all . Or, hushpuppies made in the drippings from the ribs !

In the Deep South, we have collards, black eyed peas, hog jowl, and cornbread. Not sure i would call Ashville the Deep South.
