Will you post a close up picture? Probably be a couple of days before I am back in daylight but I could get one in the dark

I agree with the friar. Also, use something skunky for a lure and some beaver castor. Cats can't resist those 2 things.
Wish I had more time to trap....

I know nothing about cubbies and doubt you need one in Texas. Sorta curious what’s the purpose of cubbies? Is it mainly used in snow areas and something used so the cat can stay dry or hide in? Never really heard of anyone in the South using them. Guess I’ve never had a need, they clog up enough coyote sets as it is. But, I might try one. I’ll take my 8yr old and tell him to build be a tunnel out of sticks and brush and I’ll come back and check it out when he’s done. I’ll place a set and the front and back and see what happens. Bet I could load up him and his buddies and have a dozen build in no time, lol! Cubby sets are deadly on bcats and grey fox, but they do take a lot longer to construct. Dirthole sets are much faster and efficient. For bcats, just make the hole bigger for more eye appeal.

I have no idea what a cubby is supposed to represent but I highly doubt it is something for them to get in out of the weather. All I know is what I have picked up reading here and watching videos on youtube Clint Locklear seemed to have a very informative one? After reading comments and looking at mine, it may be too tight and I may trim it up, for now I am letting it work. Definitely can see in it from the flagging Close ups

I've never been one to not cover a trap completely. I know you don't have to with cats, but I always do and will.

I've never been one to not cover a trap completely. I know you don't have to with cats, but I always do and will. It's really nice not to have to when ur dealing with wet ground and freezing temps. And it does give the cat a great target to put its foot on.

So basically a big cage trap made of brush with traps on each end. Nope, just a dead end with a trap on the open end in my case I've never been one to not cover a trap completely. I know you don't have to with cats, but I always do and will. My thought was to keep a dang coyote from messing up my bobcat set It was 60 deg this morning, gonna have to cool off a bit before it snows I would welcome the cold but y'all can keep that white stuff and the ice up there. These nuts around here act plain stupid when it snows. I don't mind seeing them in the ditch but i don't need them wrecking me out
