We need people with just a little intelligence at the top......something that is completely missing at this point and the Chinese know it.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

A balloon. A floating object people can see. That's what the Chinese send 1/2 way around the world to "spy" on America? If a 1.8769'er Star General said that to me, I'd straight up tell him he's the stupidest General to ever live. China sending secret balloons. Please tell me the military in this great nation aren't buying this low level Mattel toy box story. If they are, JS is right. Send in the troops. We're run by incompetents anyway.
Blessings, Mark

Balloons float around according to the wind. hot air balloon guys try to control their direction by releasing hot air to descend or firing up the burner to ascend. find an air stream going the direction they want. You cant do that with helium. So i ask again. how is its flight path controlled? There are some HUGE holes in this story

I'd say it most likely drifted up from the cartels to the south. It's loaded with contraband so blow it up. Wouldn't want a million sharks to die from an overdose.

"The high-altitude balloon was spotted over Billings, Montana, on Wednesday. It flew over the Aleutian Islands, through Canada," From what I saw it is three flat shaped balloons hooked together, one above the other. If they can be turned it would do in the direction the want it too. Just like a sail boat. I read bigger than three school buses.

MJM its not like a sailboat, its a balloon. A sailboat floats in an environment that is not air. It uses a tiller to create resistance in the water to control direction. A balloon is just floating in the wind. There is no way to control where it goes without an external engine of some sort like a dirigible has.

danny if you think the direction of travel could not be controlled by shifting the direction of each sail you need to think about it. What happens when a glider turns its tail? Who said it doesn't have a external engine? We fly drones around the world with a computer, why not a balloon?
