 Beaver (356) high $50.50 avg $17.90
Castor (35.75 LBS.) high 5lbs @ $48.00 per lb avg $45.05 per pound.

There were about a dozen lots of castor with 3-4 no sales.

 I sold two coon @ $8.00 & $10.00.
5 grey fox with complete legs & paws.
lot of three went for $21.00 each.
lot of two went for $27.00 each & top lot price.

Sold about 1.5 lbs of beaver oil sacks for $2.00.

No saled 1.25lbs of muskrat glands that had a low 20's offer.

Watched the auction from start to finish except for a short trip to the head.
Missed getting the prices on a few lots due to distractions or not being able
 to hear over the noise.

About 1/2 the buyers were buying for the tanned fur craft market.

These prices & averages are my own observation and not official.

I'm sure I miscalculated some where.

 That's It.

Sounds like it pays to be a possum and skunk trapper.
 Proudly banned from the NTA.

Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

The high end of the beaver looked pretty impressive. Newfox shared his sales results on the beaver thread (Trapping Only forum) and it looked really good to me on the big sizes. Of course he does a bang up job handling beaver.

It's unusual that there here the same amount of beaver as muskrat. theres usually a nice quanity of rats there, i guess the big marsh guys sat this season out?
And seeing a 1.78 average on rats, sitting out looks to be a good strategy. | | |

If removing guns saves just one life it's worth it. Then if deporting illegals saves one life is that worth it?

I had low water & mediocre rat populations this fall. The ones I did catch are on their way to North Bay, Ontario, Canada for the March 20th, 2023 FHA Auction. There were lots of small, medium, & large rats at the Herkimer Auction from what I saw. Not a lot of 2XL & 3XL rats on the auction block this go around. walleyed

BOCOPerhaps the doubles and triples are making thier way to North Bay too! Not sure if that is going to be the best move this year, i have a gut feeling that they are going to get rid of every skin possible while they have live bodies in the Auction room. With the dramatic uncertainty in the Global Theater there may be no next Auction or us for that matter! says Mark Downey & FHA are going to hold the line on muskrats !!! walleyed

BOCO says Mark Downey & FHA are going to hold the line on muskrats !!! WalleyedThey always hold the line. The line is fluid and you don't know where it runs is all.
