Got a chunk to grind and make Hash.Home made corned beef hash,,Home made Sausage,,Eggs(fresh from the hens) and toast for breakfast tomorrow.

I met my wife 40 yeahs ago this very day...at an Irish pub...Called TR’s Tavern.

Had some take out from a local restaurant...Irish Stew (lamb) ...and Corned Beef Rubens ...‘‘twas Excellent !

And my wife is 70% Irish

And myself at 30% Irish

I know a bunch of people that hated brussel sprouts until they tried how I make them. Baked with olive oil, sea salt, and pepper. Try'em baked!

and butter on the cabbage is , the way to go , soooo good

wife went all out and bought Irish butter , it is higher fat butter

I really like cabbage

Brussel sprouts are really good after the first good frost

Exactly. All the nasty taste of a full size cabbage in a tiny package.

My mom, being Irish, boiled almost everything. That included brussel sprouts and I did not care for them so my wife doesn't cook them. One son's MIL is Italian and she roasts them (roasted/baked like Catch22 described) and I will eat them cooked that way. She does the same with asparagus, which I never liked boiled, but now I love them roasted.

We went out with some friends and the special was Corned Beef and Cabbage so we all had big helpings. The place was packed. Glad we went early.


God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

so here is the way we make corned beef lol we call it meat candy.Boil the corn beef until done, remove from water let it cool a bit then slather the top in mustard sprinkle a liberal amount of allspice and cover that with brown sugar bake it a 350 for about 20 minutes!

We have done that too. I think it’s actually considered pastrami when smoked after corned. We have used this dry corned recipe on everything, moose, deer, beef, but by far everyone prefers it with Canada Goose.
