Than I would invest in precious metals The kind that are marked with numbers like 30;06 ,220 Swift 257 Roberts, 308 25:06 I It might also be marked with other details such as hollow point, magnum, copper plated etc .The best precious metal makes loud sounds when used properly and allow you to keep whatever other possession you may want . Once i was in a position that I was able to say I was content with my original investments I would waste the rest . I arrived in to this world a poor farm kid And most likely will still be poor when the time comes to leave So I see no reason to have money left over for people to fight over . But if you are serious about how to invest a million dollars the first thing you need to understand is in todays world a million dollars is not much money anymore.

Last spring when I knew the fed was going to raise rates a good bit,I borrowed $100,000 from a bank in Mifflin co at 3 .65 percent,then couple months ago put it into 2 CDs with a 4.25 interest rate, and the other at slightly less.Paying them off with inflated dollars till I find some property I really want.

If I was younger,I would invest in real estate.
Right now I would most likely give it to someone who needs it or could use it better.

I would set up an educational fund for my nieces and nephews.

I may be the minority here but I like clean, untraceable CASH. Real estate and such leaves a trail as do investments in banks and the stock market.

If you’re talking about $100k of emergency savings that is currently in a bank account, I recommend a CD. Bank rates suck. CD rates are much better. You can build a ladder so you have frequent access to your funds if needed. The rates were way better a month ago but still not too bad.
