Been called several times, actually went . Never got picked after the questions...
Last time the trial was supposed to last a couple months, judge asked if that would interfere with planned vacations, or work, all but 2 of the potential jurors raised their hand and the judge said thanks for your service and we all left, about 40 people, lol
Still get jury notice questionnaires every couple years , threat of arrest if you don't send them back. I asked a deputy sheriff about that and he laughed, said that never happens, I toss them now,

They dumped me from the roles for age as well. Only been called upon once. Waste of time as who wants someone that can't hear the testimony as well?

When the judge calls your name to be questioned don't get up out of your seat, stay looking straight ahead. Finally after calling your name a couple times the other jurors start looking around and figure out its you, you get the elbow so you acknowledge and stand up. When the judge asks for your name you say "HUH?" When he tries to speak louder you again say "HUH? I'm hard of hearing your honor"
He then dismisses you and you smile at the other jurors as you walk back to the truck
Gotta live up to the nickname...

I haven't ever been selected for jury duty. I would like to be a juror once in my life but the timing would have to be right. I get paid full wages from work if I have to serve so that softens the blow a bit. I can't imagine being forced away from your job without pay and relying on the 11 dollars a day that they give.

I've gone 3 t imes...they never picked me.
Good deal Paul I was called twice and turned down both cases when they found out I was an insurance agent. Both times were civil cases.

I never had to fill out a questionnaire. I got called out of the jury pool to answer questions verbally by the defense. Our county sends a questionnaire along with your notice to appear. It questions you with things like mentioned..... Do you trust an officers word and similar. I assume the lawyers read these if you are called up front (lottery) they pick the jury from these people. I've had to appear 3 times, twice I was called up front and once put on a jury. I'd guess about 100 people get called to appear and from those they pick around 30-40 to go up front which they then pick the 12 plus alternates from.

I've been in several jury pools, once selected as a juror after some questions to whittle the pool down, then voted as the foreman when we were all seated. One of the best experiences of my life, would do it again in a heartbeat. Was 3 days about a drunk driver who had been arrested 7 times for drunk driving, the last time he hit someone, which changed his luck.
I don't have much respect for those who talk trash about serving on a jury, shows they have no respect for their country and it's rules, regardless of their understanding which isn't much if they trash talk trying to get out of doing their responsibility.
One can't try and get out of this duty and then trash the courts for not having any sense in selecting juries.
You are selected to be a peer not a expert, LOL though most think thats the reason by the way they act to get out of duty, or it's to much time, can't afford it, until they have to have one, then listen to them cry about no one else being in the pool !!
Do your duty if on the jury your are not on the roles again for 4 years unless the city is to small for a large pull on people, you might just learn something about courts being involved and not just watching a movie !!
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

By reading all the responses how you get a summons to appear different in every state, county and village. Also length of time in between. I've probably been summoned at least 6 times and served 3. Once you appear even if it's cancelled over the phone you don't have to serve for a certain amount of years where I live in NY. I believe they told me 6 years last time until they could summon me again. . I haven't gotten a questionairre for quite some time now. The last time was just a summons to appear out of nowhere. You get paid every day a stripent amount base on how far you travel from home address to court. I believe it was only $40 a day last time
