How do the professional fab guys break down large sheets of heavy gauge steel?
Say I wanted to break down a 4x8 sheet of 16 ga cold roll without wasting off cuts?
Does a throatless shear fill the role here or is a circular saw the way to go?
Put another way...I need something that works for sheet metal like a table saw works for plywood. Long, straight, accurate cuts.

Just happy to be here.

Did my fur shed roof with Menards metal roofing I tin snipped a lot of it it's a pain, the vertical cut I used a retractable blade just score the line deep and bend the seam. I avoided the circle saw I did not want to heat the metal so it would rust quicker. They make a fiber blade that fits a Skill saw if that's the way you need go. Buy as much pre cut to the length you need the most, if it’s for the walls or the roof.

Get the correct angle on your snips to make the job easier several choices.

Pros use hydraulic shears but pricey, you could also use a foot or jump shear. Not sure how much you doing but if you have a sheet metal shop or metal fab shop nearby they'd probably help you out.

Actually doing my shed right now with metal siding.
Bought a pair like that from Menards and a metal blade.
Using metal blade on skill saw right now.
Probably take the shears back for a refund .
Never tried them , so can't recommend.

Those metal nibblers suck, you will be better off with a skill saw and a metal blade

I cant speak for the Bauer electric sheers but I have milwaukee ones that are awesome. I didn't suggest them earlier since you were looking to cut without waste and you lose a good 1/4" per cut with them.

Jump shears are the way to go for good clean cuts. It pays to pay someone a couple bucks to do it.

Just buy the fiber blades they work in any circle saw.

I wouldn't cut my own. I'd pay a shop to do it.
