I can still function pretty well with high temps. Unusual for us to have so much sun, heat with very dry air and windy many days. Sucks any moisture we have right up. Sloughs are going dry rapidly. Really can see where ground water levels are at from place to place. Some are normal or average over time, a couple still higher than normal, but most now are heading toward wet mud. This year must be the cycle as we have a ton of new cattail growth instead of the brown stuff, just won't be any water there for the rats. I am watering every other day. It is keeping stuff alive.

Hot n dry. When rain comes it’s an inch in 5 minutes with a 90kph wind gusts. I think it’s going to be one of those Junes where a quick storm passes through and we fix lines for a day, then repeat in 3 days……OT$$$.
On a side note….
90kph isn’t 90 mph. There’s always the odd American that makes the news here going 90 in a 90 zone…lol. Roads turn to crap as soon as they cross the line and they think we’d almost double the speed limit? Hahaha

I think we got less than an inch of rain in May. Driest May since the dust bowl days. Touched 90 degrees every day this week. Next week looks cooler but only 1 day with a chance of rain.

I don't know how anyone can live in a desert, I need some water!

The last time it rained here was 5/20/2023. The next chance of rain is 6/11/2023. We are unusually dry for this time of year. It's been hot and humid, 88% humidity for several days, with temperatures in the upper 80's to low 90's. I do most of my work early or late. The sun and I don't get along well.

I check the the closest weather station to us, about 6 miles from me. There was .4 inches May 1st, .12 inches May 8th and that is the measurable rainfall we have had since then. Roughly a half inch in 33 days. The last two weeks have been well above normal temps. The first 10 days were cool. It is not just a talking issue now. Several crops are being impacted considerably, especially 2nd cutting alfalfa and typically with a moist May we get more heads and good fill due to moisture but there was none this year.

Been in the mid 90s all month here in South East Asia.
Has my white Alaskan pale skin burned bad snorkeling on the reef with the Sea Turtles. I won’t forget the suntan lotion next time mad

Will be back to chopping wood soon.

Forest fires burning now east of Cochrane, around Lowbush/Mistango lake area.
Lots of smoke in the air here today from those fires.
Lot of real good productive traplines in that area, some will be damaged,no doubt.
Too hot and dry.
