I’ll be honest it’s hot but I don’t think we’ve hit triple digits yet, and if we have it wasn’t days or weeks in a row. Actually a mild Summer compared to some I’ve experienced. Our heat index have been in excess of 100, but not the actual temps.

We get into the 90° sometimes in the NC Mountains. Low 80s today.

I grew up in the Coastal Plains of NC in a two story home with no AC. Worked all day in tobacco fields. I know heat! Also lived on the NC Coast. Pulled crab pots while wearing oil skins.

92° and very humid today, dew points in the mid 70’s, air you can wear. Helping my landscaper dig out stumps.

Yesterday was cooler. We have been warmer than normal for June and July, but nothing like many areas. I believe 93 was our high with only a couple other 90s. Very dry to go with the higher temps and thus moisture with the wind was sucked out of plants and the ground.

I'm sure I could have seared steaks on my hood around lunch time, but you'd not want to leave them very long.

The smart temp apparatus on my Chebby said it was 78 in the shade today. I can deal with that.

Question for you guys that live in very hot areas with very low humidity, is it comfortable to work outside?

I think our high humidity and moderately hot Summer temperatures is likely more uncomfortable than areas with higher temperatures and low humidity.

I hate the humidity. Like I said above, yesterday was 92° with very high humidity. It’s 71 now at 6:30 in the morning and humidity is 97%. It wears you out.

I worked on an archaeological dig in Israel for a few months. 110-112 degrees every day with little humidity. We worked from 4 am to lunch time. Hot is hot, regardless of the humidity. It was miserable to work when it was over 110 degrees. This was physical work, swinging a pick ax and carrying buckets of dirt up and down the mountain. In my opinion, the whole "dry heat" thing is overplayed

Gotta live up to the nickname...

I agree - when it gets that hot. In normal summer heat - mid 90’s - I find it more comfortable in Aug when the humidity is typically less - than June. I went on a safari in the Zambezi river valley a few years ago and the temps were 110 during the day. I found it uncomfortable - but I am outside most days. The two office workers I was with had a rough time. One actually suffered from heat exhaustion.

102 with 12% humidity
Won't say comfortable but for me it is more tolerable than the heat and high humidity at least don't feel like working in a sauna
