What are some things a person could do to draw more deer from neighboring properties?
I.E Hanging apples in a tree, lots of corn, nice food plot etc.
Like to hear what you think?

Safe secure thick bedding/day time cover hands down.

If I'm wanting to hunt a deer I'd much rather have it bedding on the property I hunt than eating on it if I had to chose one

Trying to shoot a lot of deer or trying to shoot mature bucks? If your trying to shoot mature bucks best thing you can do is stay off it, promote heavy cover and be extremely sneaky getting in and out to not disturb the deer.

If your trying to just kill deer for meat it's tough to beat good food plots

Find what the properties around you lack and provide that. If everyone else has food adding food probably won’t help. As others have said, stay out of the property until your highest odds day for killing the deer you’re after. Slip in, get it done

Out bait thy neighbor. Find something they like better than corn.

Kill them as early in season as possible - first week of October.

To increase your chances at a mature buck: Feed the does, ie... well fertilized plots and plenty of corn or sweet
potatoes. Hunt around those doe groups during pre-rut and the rut. Leave the does alone until after your breeding slows....post-rut.

Keep the feed there into late season. The bucks will remember those feed sites. Watch for them on those late December evenings that are cold and messy (drizzly rain/sleet/icy). Pay attention the last few minutes b4 dark.

ALWAYS watch the wind. Stay away if wind is wrong for that stand. You'll just screw it up and your neighbor will score.

hay field with good bedding around it a good perimeter they don't see through

bedding doesn't need to take a long time to grow I was talking with a prairie restoration guy he said they have had a great deal of success planting Indian grass as a barrier deer love it to not be able to see they feel safe when they see no people.

it grows 5-8 feet tall

Early season good feed and cover. During the rut all the does good food and cover. The rut can change everything in the deer woods. I get good bucks on camera every year this time of the year. The the horns turn hard that changes them and when the rut comes another change happens. That is my area. Very seldom do I see bucks that I have pictures of when the season starts.

Bedding isn't thick like many think.

Maybe it depends where your at. I'll take thick any day here. Give me Cedar choked draws, shelter belts, 6 foot high crp, huge plum thickets and over grown weed choked old farmsteads all day.

If your game laws allow for it, put your stand on a strait road/pipeline ROW, etc in cover and feed it with corn with a tailgate feeder to and from the stand, for about 200 yards out. Do this as much as you can a week, but at least 3 times a week, and put out as much as they will eat in a day. If they clean it all up overnight, then put out some more.

If you have a foodplot, use the tailgate feeder and feed the entire boundary next to the woodline with corn regularly pre-season.

Best, is to set your stand up where you are watching a big woodline and also on a road, and feed along that woodline and road regularly several months before season. It will draw deer if started pre-season. You'll also be hunting 3 different places at once.

Easiest solution: Sneak onto the neighbor's property where the deer is, shoot them there and drag back across the fence. You are welcome. whistle

AJE,
I didn't factor in that SGT C might couldn't shoot.

Edit to my previous post: First, go to archery or gun range and practice.

lots of variables that effect an answer.

that said just off the cuff i'd say cover for bedding,
If it your land is mostly woods, thin it heavily, leave downed trees where they fall, encourage ground growth of forbs and grasses.
If your land is open field plant tall grasses and forbs (over 6ft tall).

I'm not sold on the stay out of it mind set. The other side of that coin is if you frequently walk around the place deer will be more used to your presence and see it as less of a threat.

I hunt several properties with established prairie's and deer don't bed In those areas. They bed on the high ground In the woods surrounding those areas. I think deer like to be able to see what's coming In to their bedding areas..

We have a 100 acre deer management area. Most of the wooded area has been all cut down to create a huge bedding area. WE have several food plots on that ground. And we have a year round spring fed water source.
We have also created some water tanks at the edges of those food plots. We have just started putting In our food plots. We don't feed deer until It's time to shoot them.
Once the food plots are established and all the shooting houses and ladder stands have been attended to we never set foot on that ground till It's time to hunt. And we don't hunt It till we have the right wind.
We kill some decent bucks.
Our bow season starts In the middle of Sept and that's the time to kill one of those shooter bucks. They haven't been bothered since last Dec and they are a little easier to kill. Well In my opinion.

Nailed it and then stay out of the area that they use for bedding
