Just in time for winter, the remaining permits to drill in Alaska have been pulled. This move should cement the signal for oil companies to stop investing in exploration.

Hope it stays high until the next election is over if that’s what it take for people to see what’s going on today. The drop before the last election gave people false hopes I hope it’s not that way this time.

I agree, people didn't realize why we had 2 dollar gas last election.

Was just at a grocery store and an older fella started complaining when he saw what he owed for a bad of groceries. I commented out loud, elections have consequences.

The US is now exporting surplus oil to other nations. Russia and Saudi Arabia have cut production to keep prices high. Oil prices are not set in the White House but on the global market.

I was talking to an elderly man a couple of weeks ago and he was telling me how he made a tasty meal out of a $1.19 can of tuna and noodles. It's all he could afford to eat.

A war against Alaska. You'd think everyone would be up in arms over this.

"Bernadette Demientieff, executive director of the Gwich’in Steering Committee" ...she is for stopping drilling, and she doesn't think this does enough ?

What are the natives going to use, instead of fuel for everything and everyplace they go- sled dogs ?

Or will it be as always...the elites use planes, snowmachines, boat motors, trucks, chainsaws, cooking and warming gas , modern medical help, electricity , for that matter, that all need fossil fuel to even generate, and use ? And everyone else starves, and goes nowhere ?

I bet Bernadette D. will always use fuel powered everything.

When the White House pulls oil out of our Strategic Reserve and puts it into the markets it helps to set and lower prices and weaken our country. Just to help win an already crooked election. The next Republican president ( whenever/whoever that will be ) will have to refill the reserve at higher prices. Making the party appear bad because of higher fuel prices.

The Strategic Reserve can also be used to stabilize prices during a supply interruption.

We need more refineries and they need to be built near the oil wells to reduce pipeline and transportation expenses.
