I am baiting fall bear into an area with a very high deer population with no luck at all.
I know bears are around because they have been seen, but I have been baiting for them and only have pictures of like a million deer.
Would the deer be pushing out the bears ?

When there were Bear around camp, there were few Deer. Shot some Bear and the Deer moved back in.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

If anything, it should be reversed. But it could be several things... what is the primary bait? Is it something that may attract deer? (ie: salty, bread based carbs vs sweets). If there bears are there but not consistently coming to the bait, that might mean there's a better, higher value food source somewhere not far.

I thought it should be reversed as well.
I have been using carcasses and meats so far- mixed into corn. Also I have been burning jars of bacon grease.
The deer don't go after the bait, they seem more curious then anything about new smells.

That's a good point about a better food source. The berry's are still on here so far, haven't had a frost yet. Maybe once they start to turn I'll get some better results

Down here in the deep South...when a bear moves in...the deer leave. Not the other way around.

If your not already doing so, put the bear bait in a 55gal barrel/lid...donuts & pastries.

Fall can be tough. Every natural food is coming into season berries, acorns, etc. When you have bumper crops of these it is hard to get bears to commit to bait.

Mountain Ash really affected the bear hunt in NW Ontario, this fall. Tons of them and the bear were gorging on them. Try some different scents to attract them to at least come in and check the smell out. Be ready though they will come in and walk right through because they are full but curious.

Deer won’t push out bear. I’ve seen a bear almost turn itself inside out leaving when wolves approached though.

Liquid smoke, anise, vanilla are worth a try

Bears will be in the oat fields in southern Ont.

They co-exist in my area. Bear destroy our feeders and cameras. Deer season in much longer.

No I do not believe deer will run bear out. Bear eat, period. If they are not eating your baits they are eating something they like better, or something they find safer to access.

We find that bears prefer carbs until about September 1st ish in general then switch to protein, I have found going heavy on nuts works well.

I had cameras on my Bear Bait for several months this year, with a high whitetail population- the deer tend to avoid the area (especially when it's all lathered up with Bear Barnyard smells). They look in the direction of it with ears pinned but loop around it typically to come back onto the trail downwind. You might want to change-up your baiting strategy, in Wisconsin, we're not allowed to bait with carcasses for Bear, a few years back I put a camera on a beaver carcass and it was often visited by whitetails- definitely inquisitive animals, corn is obviously another draw.

Black bears are another deer predator, so deer shy away from areas that bears frequent. In NY’s Adirondack Mtns. , Black Bear fawn predation coupled with poor habitat due to state forest preserve where no timber harvesting is allowed, is the main reason for the low deer population. Bears sense of smell is better than coyotes, Thus they take more fawns than coyotes.

Put out a bait in the spring and get the bear hitting it, at least here you will have very poor success getting bear to hit new baits in the fall, but they will come to established bait sites where they have previously fed on them in the spring. Never seen that carcasses were the greatest bait, plus if I was planning on eating it, I wouldn't be feeding it a bunch of rotten meat.

Of course if the bears are there and you have room to run, the logical thing is to contact someone with good bear dogs. Lots more fun than staring at a pile of donuts.
