Cabelas was toast years ago as far as I’m concerned. I remember over ten years ago having trouble with them over something. I told my brother “ I can’t believe this is the same company we ordered our elk hunting gear from years ago, I think I’m done with them..” My brother said “ Cabelas left us, we didn’t leave Cabelas.

They also started taking on products from dealers and individuals, which was cool. But, If the product was successful, they would send a sample to China and see if it was possible to have it done cheaper, if so, patten or not, it was copied and original product dropped.

Gonna sound crazy being from the South but Cabela’s used to be my go to store before Bass Pro bought them out. Bass Pro ruined me when they kicked me to the curb for a bunch of suits. This ole poor boy had saved $1000 and had the wife’s blessing to have fun. Got ignored for my attire vs business men in suits who never purchased anything. I went as far to let them ring up my buggy of over $800 then asked for a manager to explain why they could go ahead and put it all back. Never bought anything from them again and once they bought Cabela’s I quit ordering from there.

Pull the card out and look at it compared to what is loaded. I just can't see this as a company problem. Is this one of those modern convinces that isn't so convent? Maybe just walk in and buy what you want. As make them go pull it for you.

I'm clearly in the minority. I like the Bass Pro just east of Des Moines and stop in there a lot.

If it’s on sale it might be a deal but I can’t afford their full priced stuff. It’s 120 mile round trip for me so dropping in is not often practical most days to pick up what they will ship for free to me it’s a no brainer you would think.

The sale ends Sat so if I wanted to save $140 I had to get it ordered by Sat plus the ammo might of sold out if I wait to long.

Came here to mention that Cabela's has really gone downhill since BPS bought them. Now I just feel like a follower with no original thoughts LOL

Just happy to be here.

Never noticed an issue but most of my ammo is bought from Buds. They seem to have every and any type of ammo one might need.

If Buds did free shipping at 50 bucks like Cabelas I would end up making a lot of impulse buys.

Cabela’s has changed over the years with price increases, lower inventory on some items. The parking is seldom busy unless a big sale is going on not like in the past.

I was looking for some no plow food plot seed last year they had the smaller bags but the big bag had to be ordered. They did have a ton of other seed in small bags in a few different brands and growing options. Boots have to be ordered it seems like but with the variety of sizes that makes sense to keep inventory down.

Picked up some .22 ammo for .5 a round that was a good deal I thought and a pair of Leupold 10 power binoculars for $100 with my points and free shipping so I was happy with those deals.

The last time I was in a Cabela's it had more yuppie clothing than outdoorsman inventory. Same thing with Dunham's.

Ever wonder how Cabelas and Bass Pro make the REAL money ?
It isn't selling you fishing lures and hunting apparel . . .

It's getting YOU to sign up for a CLUB CARD !
A credit card that you will use over and over, . . . . forever !
They get a piece of that action. . .forever !

Johnny wants your soul and he's willing to bargin to get it !

They do have a lot of that stuff! Must sell very well. But it ain't for me. Most of my wardrobe comes from the farm supply store.

Camo BDUs for me and a tee shirt but if I dress up I wear a pocket tee then. Not much for playing dress up to busy working.
