They replaced our flag due to it being "offensive" some years back but the only place you ever see the new one is government buildings. Private citizens and many businesses still fly the old one.

Honestly I think both the old and new flag are nothing worth writing home about. I liked the old school artistry and such, but on a real flag from a distance it was nearly indistinguishable from other similar flags. Sad to see this if the only reason was the original was viewed as “offensive” to some. But even more concerning if the underlying reason and the similarity to the Somalia flag is due to immigrants not conforming to America’s culture, political views, etc.. Immigration is supposed to be for people who want to be Americans not to bring their “culture” to America.

Just saying, MN in a good way, but MN has many Gov issues very glad I don't live there but I also don't want the MN people to spread their thinking to their neighboring states.

CA people has changed our state also. The only difference is we don't have 7 million people, so fight isn't as bad yet!!!

Western MN is as conservative as South Dakota. The cities, all in the eastern part of the state are the problem.

The main point and you did catch a bit of the intent was minding your own store. Many people in Minnesota particularly sportsman are fighting back as best they can against what’s happening in that state. Many ranchers/people in Montana these days find the California influx to be far more detrimental than people from any other state. It’s evident to many outsiders the liberal impact against the outdoor activities in Montana. Those “outsiders” who are closer to or have dealings with the inner workings of Montana see the impact also on the cities and political spectrum.

You have not to my knowledge posted or displayed any efforts you have done to help your own state, yet you bash another. When outsiders could help with auctions to battle for Montana rights, people on this site, and other sites from across the nation stepped up and went big. What have you done?

Make your refugees refugees again and your problems would be solved really. MN has been flooded with refugees for the purpose of changing the political balance they are taught to fear one party in order to only vote for the other party. My Hmong “ in-laws” think that the one party would stop even legal immigrations if elected because that’s what they are being told.

This outcome was planned for a long time in the making and the flood of Somalia refugees was part of the plan. People are pawns nothing more to reach a desired goal and nothing more and you’re the paying to make it happen.

I don't see the problem with our current flag. I don't see the hate or racism in it.
If some groups feel that way, then why not just remove the Indian from the emblem,.it's not like they don't have their own flags. Red lake Nation has a beautiful flag in my opinion and it recognizes the different clans.

The three finale proposals are equally ugly. They should just leave it alone instead of raising a problem in search of a solution.

But, it is Minnesota, and as many have said here, our political regime is tainted with progressive wokeism. Get away from the metro and Duluth and you will find most feel as many as you do from rural areas.

That is correct. People living in rural MN are opposed to what's happening in the state. The state elections are always determined by the population of the Twin Cities and Duluth. The rural areas of MN voted around 80% republican this last election.

They all need to get off their butts get out of the city spend time on the road and find out what people in rural small towns think, might open some eyes .

That ain't gonna work. Remember, according to the governor, there isn't anything outside the Metro area except rocks and cows.

Mn seems to have a penchant for spending state monies on frivolous things. Do you know we have a state soil? Bird? Flower? Fish? And the list goes on. I do believe that since French is no longer a much used language here getting rid of the inscription on the flag ( that some misinterpreted as the”toilet of the north” ) might give readers a better impression of the state. I didn’t vote on the new design—had better things to do. But a lot of folks with time on their hands did vote. For me, I’d rather spend my time trying to name the new area snow plows. Obiwan Casnobi and Edward Blizzardhands are two of my favorites.

According to the local news this morning, 30% like the new flag, 30% are indifferent, 40% hate the proposed flag. Alex Kendall from channel 9 said she felt the new flag needed the green in it. And I used to like her.

I suspect the approval numbers would go down if more people knew it was a very close copy of the Somali flag.

I take a little different view on the thing;

The old one was a mural, not a symbol. I am in favor of a simple symbol, as long as it actually depicts something. This thing has its "star of the north", stylized shape of Minnesota, and some stupid unexplained (maybe "land of sky blue waters") blue field.

So, while I can't say I like the new "product", I did sorta like the idea.

Based on the similarity of the choices looks like they had colors chosen for them, Minnesota government sucks, California 2.0

I won't fly it on my flag pole either. It's an ugly flag.
