I have a suggestion on how to rid the American tax payer of apathy, GET RID OF DIRECT PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS.. Make everyone (working) cut a check to the State and Feds at the end of every month.

I agree. Maybe they can even penalize them for sending the wrong amount like they do when i mis guess my quarterlies.

I think people would be way more interested in how it was spent if they had to write a check, demand accountability etc.

Works for me. I know my blood pressure goes way up every quarter when I see how much of my hard-earned money goes to the various blood-sucking governments to be wasted on bullcrap.

the state said we are not collecting dues any more you get to make the union your check for dues every month.

I don't feel the tax code is the problem. It is the ones that are spending and pocketing the money that are the problem. What would our taxes be if they were not spending like there is no limit. Wait there is no limit. I say they just passed a bill to fund Ukraine through 2027.

And, it's infuriating how hard working people actually building something pay more income taxes (and use less resources). And, more property taxes. We are penalized in this country for working hard and being successful. And, Joe Biden didn't start that and Donald Trump didn't fix it.

If folks actually felt the loss of what they are paying maybe that would change? The way they've got it set up currently you never feel the pain because all the monies that you've earned do not show in your bank balances.....ever.
