My morning consisted of two small beaver and a new leak in my waders. Happy to see success on this rainy day!

Wow, what a monster cat, Rick. Congratulations on finally getting him. What a great Christmas present.

Yes,that was nice to see him on Christmas morning,Blind in his left eye,third heaviest cat #48,#46 and #44,his belly isn't to full either.I'm happy he was the one to make #100,might tan him just because of that,aged his teeth looks to be 7 years old.He's killed a few deer in his liftime.Had him on camera the first time Dec 2nd,Dec 8th and then on the 12th he ate well drug off about 16 to 18 lbs of a beaver,I didn't have it wired to a tree,normally they just eat right there,then he had been missing in action until last night,12 nights guessing he had made a kill somewhere and thats what took him so long to come back through?When Scott was up here we had one set and 2 snares,I put in two walk through in the day before Scott left,closed the snares because I wanted to see this cat alive,roughly 5 days ago I put in a woods dirthole and a cubby walk through,the cubby walk through is what caught him.So there was a mine field set at that location,total of 5 footholds and no snares GANG SET BABY.....Another back foot catch,there back foot are tapered so that one I didn't use the choke pole,shot him in the lungs so I didn't get any real good picture's of him.Jake trap was used at the set.Same location where 20 Scout caught his first cat,didn't have to cut down a tree on this one.Voo Doo from Fox Hollow was the lure,Reuwsaat's FatalBreath LDC used as the call lure up on the tree.

No coyotes no bobcat tracks,plenty of wolf tracks no weasel either pulled some more gear today,will pull a couple more tomorrow.Waiting for cats to come back through 2 location's,hope to pick up one more and 1 or 2 coyotes this week.My plan is to have everything pulled by next Monday,it's been a fun season again,I haven't targeted cats like this for at least 8 years or more.Should have a nice batch of fur for our MTA Tanned fur project.... A few cats,marten,weasels,mink and some coyotes I should try to catch the one otter,but I haven't set for him/her come's by about every third day.

I pulled all but 4 sets that I can ALMOST check from the window. The frost is totally out of the ground and we lost the ice in the swamps and most of the ponds. If we get some cold and freeze things up again I wouldn't mind catching a few more beaver. You couldn't pay me to be out on the lakes right now.

I caught two small beaver this morning, nice little Christmas present to myself. Pulled a few more land sets due to all the mud. Managed to get them both put up before Christmas dinner knowing I would be too full to do it afterwards.

well - Barrett and I caught one Muskrat in a 330 Belisle that was going in a beaver lodge.

What is that white stuff on the ground?

We had a white Christmas,about a 1/2" last night,the cat was caught before the snow,started to snow yesterday at 3pm so the cat was caught sometime before the snow started.I wanted to find out what direction he had came from.

Nice cat Rick congratulations!! The creak bottom here is full of water. I hope the cats will move to higher ground and find my sets.

Thank's ,yesterday the water was running over the ice on our creeks and open water on some 21 this morning so they were freezing up again.Now tomorrow they are talking freezing rain,what a weird Dec,don't know if I will get #5 this year,doesn't matter really.Hope they run the high ground for you and will be in your backyard Rob.
